Inside the ‘Diabolical’ Campaign to Ban Abortion Pills by Rebranding the Comstock Act Conservative groups have launched a PR campaign to frame the Comstock Act of 1873 as an anti-drug trafficking law. One expert compared it to the Nixon administration’s manufactured War on Drugs.

SBA, AUL, Live Action, and a guy who now works at Office of Legal Counsel (Josh Craddock) simply love comparing shield law clinicians to drug dealers

It’s true, they did threaten to sue me for this story, which we had planned to run that Friday and then the Dobbs decision dropped. We instead published the next day. Sorry to hear that another reporter is going through this

Indiana Attorney General's Office appeals religious freedom ruling on state abortion ban • Indiana Capital Chronicle Attorney General Todd Rokita will appeal a Marion County judge's ruling blocking Indiana's abortion ban for Hoosiers who argue their religious freedom requires access to an abortion.

Yes, Jewish people! “The case was filed three years ago on behalf of several anonymous plaintiffs and Hoosier Jews for Choice.”

Here's FDA filing in Louisiana case from late January.

A third mifepristone lawsuit, filed in Texas, seeks to revoke mifepristone's approval entirely, so can expect similar response from FDA there: pause or dimiss the case

But abortion pills are NOT safe because

Republican AGs of Missouri, Kansas, and Idaho want a lot more than unnecessary in-person appointments. asking:

*roll back approval from 10 weeks of pregnancy to 7
*three IRL appointments
*nurse practitioners can't prescribe
*no Rx to minors
*rescind 2019 generic approval

FDA says too late to sue

Philly Planned Parenthood centers face uncertain future after funding cuts The federal “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” signed into law last July, blocks Medicaid funding to facilities that perform abortions.

Tesla sued after Austin shooting suspect allegedly assaulted co-worker A 65-year-old woman says the automaker ignored warning signs before Ndiaga Diagne, the suspect in Sunday’s mass shooting, assaulted her. She sued Thursday.

the Austin mass shooter was a Tesla employee who assaulted a coworker during a company-allowed prayer break late last year

the company refused to give the victim her assailant's name so she could press charges, and he went on to become a mass shooter

The DOJ Subpoenaed Patient Info From a Gender-Affirming Care Clinic. It Fought Back. A Washington judge quashed the Trump administration's attempt to subpoena patient information from the telehealth practice QueerDoc—but the fight may not be over.

Late last year I covered the case of QueerDoc, a small, telehealth gender-affirming care practice that received a subpoena from Trump's DOJ. The subpoena was blocked by a federal judge, but the DOJ appealed, and the 9th Circuit is hearing oral arguments today.

U.S. sub sinks Iranian warship off Sri Lanka, killing 87 and expanding war zone A U.S. submarine sank an Iranian warship off the southern coast of Sri Lanka, killing dozens of sailors and dramatically widening Washington's pursuit of the Iranian navy.

A US submarine sinking a lonely, dinky Iranian surface ship an ocean away from the theater of the main conflict—and 9000
miles from North America—makes it pretty clear the US is fighting a general war, without the declaration required by the Constitution. www.reuters.com/world/asia-p...
