I made a map of 3.4 million Bluesky users - see if you can find yourself!

I've seen some similar projects, but IMO this seems to better capture some of the fine-grained detail
Find out how to translate papers into working tools in Houdini. Get an overview of the general ML workflow and dive into specifics with an implementation case study. Presented by Jakob Ringler. www.youtube.com/watch?v=WQWc...

1/9 - Hi I'm David: impatient with repetition and fascinated by surprise.
Hi - I am finally trying to leave X behind me and hope to find that old twitter feel over hereπ So, if you are into CG art, Sound Design or experimental animation filmmaking I would be happy to connect. Here's my showreel with some personal and professional projects.

Such a good talk!
Blog Post: Graphite progress report (Q4 2024) - Quality of life improvements across drawing tools and procedural editing

Very cool stuff! Thanks for the writeup :)
How does it compare to hsv blending?
Wrote a blog about Kubelka-Munk Colormixing in Houdini with free hip file! #houdini vanity-ibex.xyz/blog/kubelka...
I wrote a little primer on rigid body dynamics in Houdini after seeing a lot of similar questions online. Bullet is a pretty deep rabbit hole to fall into and there's a lot of legacy stuff that's very confusing for new artists... hopefully this helps you get started!

If you just want to get a broad overview on what to expect you can also take a look at the presentation I gave during last year's Houdini HIVE Horizon event as well.
@sidefx.bsky.social recently published the 3 ML projects I built during my time in Toronto :) If you want to teach Houdini how to understand your drawings, learn how to build an ML groom deformer or how to use PCA to dejitter animations, you can find the files and tutorials on their website!

@cgwiki.bsky.social discord is doing another #vexember this year, relaxed this time with a new challenge every 4 days or so. This is 01:
Here are two covers proposals for the current Cell issue, but it didn't make it. I love these renders because they are just data, nothing else! Congrats to @merlinlange.bsky.social & @loicaroyer.bsky.social ! #dataviz #sciart π‘ π§ͺ Data imported and rendered in #houdini @sidefx.bsky.social
Haha βscanβ is a good word for it!
Building something digital that is so inefficient that it feels analog π
Cheers :) Yes definitely!
Originally I wanted to build the whole thing in cops only to find out, there is no such thing as time yet :D
To convert more people to the Houdini Python side of life, I will be launching βTwelve Days of Pythonβ on December 1st. 12 days to take you from nothing to something, and start making your own tools and workflow enhancements in Houdini.
Get excited!

Little Apex explainer targeted at experienced Houdini folk. It's rough (got a cold, ugh), but figured it'll be useful to people like me who were simultaneously interested and apprehensive. Will likely re-record later when my voice recovers and I learn more things... www.youtube.com/watch?v=U9-e...
Thanks! It's a fun effect for sure .. it gets carried by @gurmoose.bsky.social 's sick RBD work though!
Based on that attribute you can shift UVs to read from different udims (frames) at the same time.
COPs really came in handy to rasterize the final point colors and enabled a faster round trip time.
I wrote a little bit about the setup here:
fxnotes.xyz/notes/Slit-Scanning/
On videos this effect is really trippy as it let's you see the past and the future in the same frame. In this case you can see the impact before it actually happens.
In essence the Houdini setup allows you to timeshift per pixel and let's you control it using a single attribute.
After seeing @stephanhelbing.bsky.social 's amazing hive presentation on slit-scanning a couple months back, I really wanted to play around with it myself. I finally had some time a couple weeks ago and experimented with @gurmoose.bsky.social 's awesome violin render. Thanks for letting me use it:)
Here's more fun stuff you can do with 3D Gaussian splatting in SideFX Houdini with GSOPs: youtu.be/bVJNqMzBPDY.
