It was so cool to go to this townhall in @senbillferg.bsky.social's district, see just how many university workers live there, and learn that, after stopping ICE, the top issue was union rights for USM workers. Court Rules in AAUP v Rubio: Trump Admin Violated First Amendment The AAUP and partners sued to block the Trump administration from carrying out large-scale arrests, detentions, and deportations of noncitizen students and faculty members for ideological reasons.

Read more about our victory in AAUP v. Rubio below. We are fighting in the courtroom and on the streets to ensure that non-citizen faculty & students like Rümeysa Öztürk receive the care and protection they deserve.

After my ICE arrest, I learned one crucial way to respond to trauma. We can all take part | Rümeysa Öztürk I was detained for co-writing a op-ed about Gaza as a student at Tufts. My experience has only made me feel more connected to others facing oppression

ICE unlawfully arrested & detained Rümeysa Öztürk after she co-wrote a pro-Palestinian op-ed as a PhD student. Her recent op-ed reveals the trauma she faced.

Cases like this led the AAUP to sue the Trump admin in AAUP v. Rubio. We won the lawsuit & protections for non-citizen students & faculty.
