If VRChat wants everyone to tag their avatars accordingly, but also completely exposes all said tags via the API, are they just expecting we all be fine with being required to announce to the world (or anyone with VRCX) when we're fucking?
Sure you could argue it is to prevent cheating or whatever, but when the world is that popular in a game called VR*Chat*, I expect world creators to either decide on making a game world or a social world. Not fence sit and try to farm the revenue of a game by making it juuuust social enough
I was more easily able to give them the benefit of the doubt. They made a game but didn't consider the social ramifications. Okay. But looking at how many people play it and then presumably getting VRChat to use admin tags to block anchors and self collision is really shitty.
Backends usually just store "deleted at" with a timestamp and just skip rows with non null "deleted at" columns

I feel like in a world where a couple companies own every aspect of your digital existence, clawing it back with FOSS and self hosting is a small act of rebellion that I’d highly recommend anyone comfortable enough with computers try out to any degree.
Discovered a fork of Bitwarden’s backend code written in Rust called Vaultwarden. It looks very interesting and I’m surprised just how seamless the experience is coming from Google Passwords. Even passkeys work across devices which was the biggest reason I didn’t want to leave.
