A NEW report has found that almost half of UK media coverage contains anti- Muslim bias. The large-scale study from the Centre for Media Monitoring (CIMM) has found widespread and systemic anti-Muslim bias across British media in 2025, with a cluster of right-wing outlets responsible for the most severe and persistent harmful coverage. Analysing 40,913 articles published across 30 major news outlets, the report finds that nearly 50% of all articles about Muslims in the UK contained measurable bias. In total, around 20,000 pieces were found to include varying degrees of bias. Across all articles analysed, 70% contained information associating Muslims or Islam with negative aspects or behaviours. While negative stories about Muslims and Islam are not inherently bi-ased, the report said the scale of this figure suggests a widespread pattern in which Muslims are frequently portrayed through the lens of conflict, threat or controversy. The study also identified a distinct cluster of right-wing outlets that consistently produced the most biased coverage of Muslims, including The Spectator, GB News, The Telegraph, Jewish Chronicle, Daily Express, The Sun, Daily Mail and The Times. The report said The Spectator showed the highest concentra- tion of severe bias, with more than one in four of its articles classified as "very biased", representing the most extreme anti-Muslim fram- ing in the UK media landscape proportionally. While some smaller outlets ranked worse proportionally, the Telegraph It points to a systemic problem within our media published the highest volume of very biased articles, followed by the Daily Mail. The report also found sweeping generalisations about Muslims were overwhelmingly concentrated in right-wing outlets. The highest rates were recorded by GB News (39%), The Telegraph (32%), Daily Express (24%), The Times (22%), The Sun (21%) and the Daily Mail (20%). Not that we would ever want it, but what would be the impact of an Iranian missile hitting an Israeli primary school and killing more than 100 kids?
