The New York Times Slurs Filled a Chat Created by a Republican Party Official in Florida After the secretary of the Miami-Dade County Republican Party created the chat for college students, it devolved into slurs against Black and Jewish people.

Slurs spoke themselves unto the mouths of young GOP members again! I just hope that they're all OK!🤡

Slurs emitted themselves fully formed, from the fingertips of innocent far-right people! That must have been terrifying for them! 🤡

The far-right dudes can host as many round tables on college sports and NIL as they want.🤷🏿‍♂️

This is your periodic reminder that I was part of the group that got the NIL laws passed. No one in the government was going to protect Black athletes or women athletes, so we helped ourselves.

But when I go to City Hall, I find that some of the ordinances are missing.

Because someone that *still lives in the town*, killed a Black person in the 70s or 80s, enforcing the sundown ordinance.

So the town stonewalls or destroys the records.

That town is only listed on the map as "possible."

Tougaloo asks me if I have relatives or loved ones that lived in the town, that they can include, because they only have a few records, and need more to confirm.

I say, "Nah, but I'll just go to city hall and look up old ordinances after work. I've pulled construction ordinances, so I can do this."

Example of not being safe:

I might think that "town X" was a sundown town. I submit it to Tougaloo College.

They ask me if it was really a sundown town? Or was it just a 24-hour racist town?🤡

I ask them "How can I tell the difference?"

Tougaloo tells me "Oral records, or city Hall records."

The submissions need to go through a rigorous process put in place by the History Department at Tougaloo College in Jackson, Mississippi.

You can submit towns to be reviewed at their website.

It's not always safe to go to city halls and pull up records from a time that they would like to forget.

Unfortunately it's not enough to know.

It has to be verified.

And Philadelphia, MS may not have been a sundown town. Because Black people may not have been safe there before sundown either. A 24 hr klan town is not a sundown town🤷🏿‍♂️

The database only has towns that fit the very specific definition.

The process for verifying sundown towns is rigorous. It has to pass the criteria set by the History Department at Tougaloo College in Jackson, Mississippi.

"Sundown town" doesn't just mean "super racist." That would be most places in the US.

It's specifically that so many of the most racist people in this country, use white Christianity as a disguise to hide ethnostate goals.

It's on Talarico to convince Black voters that he is curating a coalition that doesn't have christofascists in it. It's not incumbent on Black voters to assume good faith.

Again, I said that most white Dem voters are too selfish and not informed enough to choose strategies that keep themselves and Black people safe.

And that a strategy based on "swinging white evangelicals," is not safe for Black people. And we know that. And we are right.
