It’s been 250 years. It’s past time to end taxation without representation for every American citizen. www.ourlibertiesweprize.com/p/time-end-t...

Not one single Iowa Representative had a townhall during the recess. Not one. Who exactly was out there trying to advocate for medical neglect and starvation of children?

Did you forget? We didn't.

Trump promised to release the Epstein files. He didn’t.

His administration blocked investigations. His allies shut down subpoenas. The question isn’t just who’s on the list. It’s: what are they hiding?

NBC News confirms this report, adding that Matt Whitaker (now US ambassador to NATO) will consider coming back to run for #IASen.
That would create a big problem for Ashley Hinson #IA02, who is widely seen as the top GOP candidate for Senate if Ernst retires.

"It’s no wonder that pride in being an American is at a record low, with many people in a funk, wondering what happened to the America that they loved.

But there are no solutions to be found in despair or by giving up on the American ideal."

BREAKING: A federal court temporarily blocked our clients’ school districts from complying with a new Texas law that mandates displays of the Ten Commandments in every public school classroom.

The Constitution is clear: Public schools are not Sunday schools.

Democratic Texas lawmaker passes 24-hour mark on state House floor after refusing GOP demand for law enforcement escort | CNN Politics Democratic Texas state Rep. Nicole Collier has now spent over 24 hours on the Texas House floor in protest after refusing a Republican demand to be placed under the watch of the state Department of Public Safety.

Forcing lawmakers you disagree with to comply with 24/7 police surveillance is a gross civil liberties violation.

President Trump and his allies in Texas will stop at nothing to silence voters of color, including targeting the elected officials who represent them.

Fixing corruption requires recognizing it Our government has been whittling away at its own anti-corruption laws. It's time to fight back with new ones.

It is up to the people to force these changes. Our elected officials must serve us, not kings who give them $400,000,000 jets or multi-billion-dollar crypto “investments.”

Our current legislatures, executives, and courts will not restore them on their own. Instead, they will fire the investigators and hobble the auditors. 21/

Given the cycle we seem to go through with our laws (egregious violations, dramatic reforms, whittling the reforms into oblivion, rinse, repeat), it is time for new reforms. Our current laws, including the Emoluments Clause of the Constitution, are not up to the tasks they were written for. 20/

And Congress? The last anti-corruption law was adopted over 40 years ago. 19/

The president “paused” enforcement of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and effectively abolished the Justice Department’s task forces on political and foreign corruption. He also pardons corrupt politicians. A lot. 18/

We cannot lay all blame at the feet of the court. The executive branch has also failed us. Prosecutions for corruption have been dropping for years. 17/

In 2021, it dismissed cases alleging Emoluments Clause violations during Trump’s first term because he was no longer in office. Last year, it ruled that the President, once understood to be subject to the law, cannot be convicted for his official acts as President. 16/

Similarly, in 2023, it overturned the conviction of a former aide to the New York governor who was working for his re-election campaign and using his influence in exchange for bribes. 15/

In 2016, the Supreme Court began weakening anti-corruption laws by overturning ex-governor Bob McDonnell’s conviction for taking bribes for pushing state universities to conduct studies showing that certain uses of tobacco were benign. 12/

Laws requiring equal access to the ballot eventually allow all kinds of underhanded actions to undermine voting rights. And laws prohibiting corruption have diminished dramatically over the last decade. 11/

20.07.2025 16:12 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

However, our country has a pattern of passing laws, regulations, and even Constitutional provisions that are then whittled away over time. “No law” in the First Amendment’s protection of free speech eventually means “no law but….” with a long list of exceptions. 10/

Congress has made several more laws targeting corruption, including the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, the federal anti-bribery law, and laws requiring government employees to give the public their honest services. 9/

The Foreign Emoluments Clause specifically prohibits any “Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under” the United States from accepting “any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State.”

So the Constitution was written with an eye toward prohibiting corruption. 7/
