I was honoured to present WP Notificator at WordCamp Athens 2025 last month. A project that brings real-world, physical notifications to WordPress, and the communityโs reaction was amazing! ๐ฅน

Thanks so much for the feedback, really appreciate it! Totally agree, desk space is precious. The device Iโm working on is definitely functional, not just decorative. Itโs meant to earn its place by being genuinely useful.
Iโve been prototyping a small physical device that sits on your desk and quietly reports essential info from multiple software tools. From a design perspective, what makes something worthy of your desk space?

So you say itโs the bestโฆ what else have you tried recently?
Weโve turned software into a soap opera over the last few months (though itโs been happening for much longer, with people just looking the other way). After all, #WordPress is just a CMS with only one superpowerโthe #community.
In other news, later this year, weโll be back in #Paris, France, for #StrapiConf 2025, and I can't wait!

I mean, itโs 2025 (Happy New Year, yโall). Letโs not waste more energy on him; thatโs his fuel. Things might change if we ignore his childish actions and shift our focus elsewhere. #WordPress wouldnโt be where it is today without #ACF, the page builders (especially WP Bakery & Elementor in recent years), and most importantly, the #COMMUNITY. Without these three ingredients, WordPress as software would just be a staging/beta for the .com SaaS.
I would love to see a poll instead of that pizza question in the #WordPress .org login form. Letโs voteโฆ
Itโs time to start planning alternative #WordPress related events that are independent of WordPress Central. We also need to start discussing how to make life easier for speakers and organisers at these events; speakers should at least have part, if not all, of their expenses covered.
The Supreme Leader lost the (first) fight. He threw a tantrum, referenced GDPR, and left the chat. How mature!
Iโm SO glad to see more and more agencies from the #WordPress ecosystem recognising how great #Shopify is!

Yet, some of our 'friends' criticised the organising team for overspending because we printed hoodies for the nine team members at a total cost of โฌ220. Iโm not surprised; I get it...
A few days ago, we released the Aftermath of #WordCamp Larissa: larissa.wordcamp.org/2024/the-aft.... It was a small event (sold out at 240 tickets due to limits) but incredibly successful, giving back nearly โฌ2.4k to the community/central. ๐

Interesting things are happening in the #WordPress plugin repositoryโฆ unfortunately, not the good kind.
They are simple, practical, highly effective and allowed us to avoid printing folded badges for the schedule. #WordPress #wclagr
This allowed us to repurpose the tags after the event, for example, redirecting them to our feedback form.
These two tools were invaluable on the day of the event and the days after. They saved the day when we had to move the schedule 30 minutes later!
We paired this with NFC tags on all the event name badges. These NFC tags linked to URLs we could manage remotely via our @github repository and @Netlify
redirects, as the extra tools were hosted on Netlify - thank you so much, Netlify & GitHub -.
To solve this, I devised a simple but efficient solution. I coded a single page using HTML, CSS, and JS that loaded a JSON file with URLs and rotated through them for a set amount of time. After X rotations, the page was reloaded, and the updated JSON file was fetched.
This year at #WordCamp Larissa , we used multiple screens to display the schedule on the event day. The challenge was also to showcase our sponsors and rotate through various pages without physically going to each screen to reload or change the webpage.
Also, #WordCamp Larissa was probably my last WordCamp as an organiser. That said, Iโll still be active as part of the global WordPress community.
There are issues within our local community that have drained my energy, and I simply donโt have the time to deal with them.
Iโve never had an agenda, never promoted myself, and never expected anything in return for my contributions. Thatโs why I refuse to act like nothingโs happening.
Iโm stepping down as a #WordPress #meetup organiser. I know it wonโt make much of a difference, but it felt like the right decision after everything thatโs been happening in the last couple of months. And no, itโs not just about the

situation;
Last weekend, we wrapped up #WordCamp #Larissa, and Iโm thrilled to say it was a huge success! ๐ I was honoured to be one of the organisers, pouring my energy into making this event unforgettable. It was incredible to see some of the ideas I contributed come to life and be embraced by the community.
