Based on historical records and declassified documents, there are several instances where anarchists were falsely blamed for violence that was later attributed to state agents or informants in order to frame anarchist movements as violent extremists.
I also think that the decline of the IWW after World War 1 played a big role.
Getting rid of the state is necessary to defend the revolution.
