This seems fair.
For the record, I named her Mrs. Frisby. She was safely captured and released beneath a bush in the field next to the house in the event she was on a mission to save her boy, Timothy. ;)

Why do we need better ethics and social sciences education in STEM - and in particular, tech?
This. This is exactly why.
The arrogance is astounding.
What would the future look like if technology replaced the services ecosystems provide?
The climate crisis makes this question less hypothetical

Recruiting UofG Undergrads For SummerΒ 2026
I'm recruiting senior University of Guelph undergraduate students to support a variety of research projects this summer.
A cartoon slice of pepperoni pizza against an orange background.
Thanks to a discount from Pizza Hut, we should be able to feed 300 hungry undergrad UofG comp sci students tomorrow (in exchange for answering a short survey on health and wellness).
If they had an iota of intelligence, they might aspire to be half-wits. But they don't, and here we are.
Another submission:

Definitely going to try this one in the summer :)
Oooooh. I love date squares. And I just happen to have some dates in the pantry. Thanks for sharing :)
Iβm very happy with how they turned out :)
I decided that properly grading the homework I assigned during reading week involved a bit more work on my part :)
If you havenβt seen βNirvanna The Band The Show The Movieβ - I highly recommend. Fun, funny, and very very π¨π¦
The cover of the Lancet says it all.
A serving of shepherdβs pie on a white plate.
A cast iron pan full of baked thinly sliced potatoes covered in a coconut cream sauce.
Dinner tonight - fancy pants shepherdβs pie. Super happy with how this turned out even if the mandolin tried to kill me.
We need better interdisciplinary training in STEM disciplines that doesn't just include social sciences, humanities, and the arts as an "add on" or second thought - but as a fundamental and critical component to STEM training and technological advancement.
Technology developed without diversity of thought and expertise from lived experiences, nor consideration for ethics or the potential harms it might cause, and with only profit in mind, is why we are where we are.
Cinnamon Rolls (A+): the recipe was sent in a chat, so I'm just going to share the recipe I use from the Canadian Living Cookbook (which can be found on page 272 via the Internet Archives)

Hamantaschen (A++):

This got an extra "+" because the student brought some freshly made hamantashen in for everyone to try - in three varieties - lemon, chocolate, and biscoff!

I've never made these, but I have eaten them, and they are delicious.
More homework submissions:
Pumpkin pie (A+): www.recipetineats.com/pumpkin-pie/
Having worked at a bakery (Chudleigh's) for 10+ years, I have made a lot of pumpkin pies in my life. They remain one of my favourite pies - along with strawberry rhubarb, lemon, blueberry, pecan, peach...
Woohoo. Our paper titled βTransferable skills development in university curricula: identifying differences between STEM and BHASEβ has been accepted with minor revisions. Stay tuned for more details :)
Obviously I'll share any other recipes of note as I receive them.
Last week was reading week @uofguelph.bsky.social.
As homework, students in my lab had two tasks: 1) rest, and 2) share their favourite recipe.
Just received the first homework submission - double chocolate oatmeal cookies.
A+ work right here, folks.
