haha, "platform" differences, I get it!!!

legit sometimes i see one message from a person and hit ignore on them on discord instantly
and they usually prove me right to have done so within the next week
the prompt "draw an f1 car" has been given to Anthropic's Claude LLM, which has responded with a very simple SVG image with random circles and some parts such as the front and rear wings shown in the wrong perspective
no wonder Williams don't have their F1 car running yet if it looks like this :^)
The "Extended Marina Loop" was raced by Ferrari Challenge NA this year, and Formula E is expected to race the "Extended MIA Loop" layout next year (after they used it for a celebrity event this year).
Screenshot of the Epic Online Services Developer Portal, displaying the part of the Anti-Cheat page where you activate/deactivate builds. The most recent Linux version is selected, showing the "Activate Build" option.
so _technically_ EAC never "includes" libraries, it grabs and sets up whatever version is selected on the backend
(and the same thing knows when it's running through Proton to grab a Linux version instead of Windows)
afaik the problem is they have not clicked to activate any Linux build like this
A good way to find definitely working games is to check the RPCN compatibility list.
Any game that is known to work on RPCN without requiring custom servers is only dependent on PSN, so will work on a real PS3.
Obviously, there are also a lot of games that work on PS3 but not RPCS3 though.
Gran Turismo 4 Spec II Version 1.10 is now available.
Changelog: www.theadmiester.co.uk/specii/chang...
Full version (from base GT4O): www.mediafire.com/file/ulp3p41...
Update version (1.09 to 1.10): www.mediafire.com/file/g4dkcsi...
PSA: TXR2025's 1.0.1 hotfix updated Unreal Engine ONCE AGAIN, and once again, UE4SS is broken. I fixed the config file for 5.6.1, so please redownload it from the blog again to get it to work again! The Lua script remains unchanged, as usual.
Dynamic Day/Night Cycle for Tokyo Xtreme Racer works again on the 1.0 version of the game! No need to update the Lua script, just make sure you get the latest UE4SS from the mod page, and you're set.

Work in progress, but:

First usable form of a data resource I'm working on for TXR '25.
The site is fully generated from game data.
Detailed rival info, wanderer requirements, and all sorts of other data lists are coming soon!
the numbers are likely all placeholders
if you look at the screen where they showed off the series stuff, i spotted at least 3 things in that UI that don't make sense with each other lol
because this makes all the legal stuff way easier for them
basically the point is that you have to have a person in the EU responsible for ensuring your stuff meets regulations
so that if they don't, they can be prosecuted: rather than having to convince your country to prosecute or extradite you
PSA: Today's Tokyo Xtreme Racer update again upgrades the engine version, this time to UE5.6. UE4SS, and thus also my Dynamic Day/Night Cycle mod, are incompatible with this version at the moment so the mod will be *broken* until further notice!
Gran Turismo 2000 has been perfected.
Release soon!
PSA: Tokyo Xtreme Racer updated to 0.13.0 and they upgraded the Unreal Engine version to 5.5 - and UE4SS used for my Dynamic Day/Night Cycle mod fails to inject to that version, even when I update the plugin to the latest! Consider removing UE4SS mods until further notice.
ikaruga RAAAAAAAAAHHHHH
its peak
It should also be noted that the plot of MGSV actually has a whole bunch of distinct microorganisms, there's:
nuclear enriching archaea,
metal corrosive archaea,
make zombies archaea (???),
vocal cord parasites which kill based on language
(and I kinda conflated them all in my original reply)
isn't this the plot of MGSV :')
this is such a stupid cascade
I count 3 cars being explicitly dumb
#329 should obviously not be driving down the middle of the road in front of the entire field in a slow damaged car
#2 just rolling in front of the field
#21 trying to gain under yellow and driving straight into the car ahead
Don't know if you've seen:
tetris.wiki/Tetris_The_G...
(my assumption is this came from rev-eng given it's precision)
in "X of Y":
X is basically like TGM3 section COOLs but with tetris/allclear included,
Y is just sections completed
(except... the sections don't quite actually line up the same π)
As someone who's not particularly fantastic at Tetris - I really enjoy TGM2 especially and it feels great when get a great run that leads to a new best grade.
But in TGM4 the grades aren't related to how well you played. You can't really even compare them when both sides are different.
It's just not really at all understandable whether you did better or worse - the rank system just sucks.
In TGM4 there's two parts to it: how many hidden conditions you fulfilled & how far through the levels you got.
It seems neither is all that related to how well you played.
Tokyo Xtreme Racer being in this similar state of "small Japanese company revives dormant franchise":
but being cheaper, explicitly early access, closer to what fans want but also accessible to newcomers, clearly had a lot of work to be PC friendly...
I wish TGM4 was on the same level as that.
it's kinda wild
I think basically all of the modes are pretty fun _except_ TGM Normal. yknow. that thing that's the main part of the TGM series. which they have just totally screwed up. lol
plus yeah the price is quite bad
and Arika seemingly being totally unaware of how PC games work doesn't help
blog.archive.org/2017/04/17/r...
this is IA's post defending it
their process is "if you want something to not be crawled, email us explaining & it'll get done same as takedown requests / full site blocks" afaik
annoyingly less directly controllable but ig they want to validate every rule it follows
Gran Turismo 4 Spec II Version 1.09 is now available.
Quite a big update so I recommend checking the changelog.

Ah jeez I know I'm cooked when I don't quite remember the AC04 briefing screen:
but I recognise Operation Autumn Thunder as the Siege of Farbanti,
Farbanti itself as the capital of Erusea,
and the date of 2005 being the end of the Continental War
- to assure me that it definitely is AC04.
If you don't have any friends to invite or join your team, you can try asking/looking for others on the iRacing Forums (or other iRacing communities).
forums.iracing.com/categories/s...
If you want more general short details on this event specifically, I recommend this video: youtu.be/Qni-MKpH6Rs
If you're not in a team and you want to make one, go to "Teams" from the sidebar of the UI, click "Start a Team" in the top right, give it a name, and invite your friends by clicking "Add a Team Member".
Alternatively, ask a friend to invite you to an existing one.
Find "Bathurst 12 Hour" in the series list, select one of your teams, select drivers who are taking part.
You *can* register as just one driver within a team, but you will get DQed at the end because the event is set to require at least two.
