Hope this means good things for this platform. Graber will focus on tech stack while the new ceo will focus on growth and scale.

We want...to address the sudden increase in heating oil prices ...we understand how frustrating this can be...The recent spike in heating oil prices is largely being driven by instability in global energy markets related to the ongoing war overseas.
can't help but notice whose losses are expressed in dollars and whose losses are expressed in lives
Love it! I feel the same way, though I have the 4x5 still.
Today is the last day to see “William Eggleston: The Last Dyes” at David Zwirner Galleries. Kicking myself for missing this.

Before his return to the Oscars, Yorgos Lanthimos finds a still moment in Athens for his photography

Funny, this ads uses a quote from The Sound and the Fury and it's one of the most memorable, yet, in the novel it's entirely ironic and the person remembering it commits suicide (sorry not sorry for the spoiler), making the entire ad a disconnect for me. It's otherwise beautiful.
front of Theater De Uitkijk with a bicyle chained to a traffic sign and people mingling.
This is a cool list of 100 best movie theaters in the world, though missing the tiny gem, Theater De Uitkijk in Amsterdam. These places (Like @filmforumnyc.bsky.social in NYC) are the heart of the movies to my mind.

I don't know if I love Sugimoto's Seascapes more for the placid beauty, or just knowing that he created them: they vaguely remind me of Bartlebooth's project in "Life A Users Manual"

One reviewer on Letterboxd said it left him speechless.
Maximum hubris
Was just thinking about this lack of coverage. What a tragedy and barely acknowledged.
You might enjoy this after you've seen it: youtu.be/0_pYvXkBcIo?...
haha, you and I have a pretty big venn diagram of interests. His essay "Out the Window" (In Essays After Eighty) is one that just really has stuck in my brain.
Really looking forward to this event, in which we'll try to tackle one of the most important questions in the economy right now: What does A.I. mean for the labor market, both now and in the near future?

What’s great doc! Poitras’ films are consistently well done and this one feels as timely as ever.

yeah DD-X can get expensive with that 1:4 ratio and as I understand it, it “smooths out” the grain. I love grain, though I’ve tried Rodinal and it’s too much the other way (in my opinion), so hoping HC might be the sweet spot.
Thanks!
That’s fantastic! I would not have thought a half frame…
How big can you print with that?
Also, you prefer DD-X, I see. I like it too, but. Have been thinking of moving to HC-110b, if you have any thoughts.
Sorry for the questions!
They used to (mostly) only have thirty movies playing with a film added and a film expiring each day. It was great! I used to watch whatever was expiring, which was a great way to discover something you might not otherwise see or even think about.
Never not amazed by the hubris…
5/9. This is unsurprising. The Russians and the Chinese also try to prop up Trump. Everyone outside the US knows that he weakens the US.
Winter scene with a large red modern barn in the background
Ah winter. We’ll miss you not when you’re gone, but you are pretty.
Yes, a few. What a remarkable singer and unique voice
Wow, was just listening to this, too! Just discovered it yesterday and was intrigued by the combination of Vaughan Williams and Muhly, in particular. It really works and is a great album, I think. Amidon’s vocals!
