Totta kyllä. Mutta sekoaahan siinä, saanko siis laittaa sinne otoksen vaikka siitä tuleekin jätös. Missä kohtaa tämä muutos tarkalleen tapahtuu? Siinä kun otos tömähtää roskiksen pohjalle? Sehän olisi kuitenkin rike vielä irti päästäessä 🤔

Nää on näitä elämän suuria kysymyksiä. Loogisesti olisi kai otos, mutta se edellyttäisi sitten kaikkien "Koirien jätökset tähän" kylttien ym. päivitystä. Kalliiksi käy.

There it is! My Mighty stick found it's way ingame.

No lighting yet, but it's a step forward. Also got small util done to generate inventory icons from the models. I'm lousy artist, so this way I have at least something.

Next up: First tool, probably.

Anyone else feels like sometimes getting too obsessed with revising workflow, cleaning up something that does not really require cleaning, refactoring something that does not really require refactoring etc?

Sometimes it pays off, sometimes it's time wasted.

I might have wasted a day.

Dear #DevDiary,

I was hoping to see my mighty stick ingame today, but turns out it's more work I anticipated.

Got pretty good foundation, data driven entity registry and model loading pretty far, but wiring it all together and to render loop takes time and my brain is melted.

Windows are schema based, server sends the content and client renders.

Yet another Minecraftey clone? Yes, and no. At this point, PoC leans and seems that way, because so many fundamental things in the engine are similar.

But the gameplay, if I ever get that far, will be.. well, let's just say, my own.

I've got some pretty cool ideas. At least I think so 😄

Better UI. And I guess, I need to learn some modeling, those cubes won't do.

The thing is, I suck at it. Not even sure where to start. But I'll figure something out...

Dear #DevDiary,

Haven't logged in a while, but there's progress. Not sure what happened with the video (tried few times), real FPS was quite fine.

Anyway. I've got:
- player / inventory persistence
- items (placeholders)
- day/night cycle

All PoC, but there.

Some funny bugs occurred while doing this:

1) Late tick detection spammed itself to death
2) Client submitting data every frame killed the now tick based server to death
3) Movement went into slow motion because 20TPS =/ 60TPS (it's like time matters in physics)
