I do think it is important to be precise in your statement because otherwise it sounds ableist. Because I know you, I KNOW that’s not your intention. But you know words and how they impact others matter, like mine were interpreted by you, without that being my intention.

So, my intention with “I think you mean” is: this is how I interpret what you are saying. Which is different from “You mean”, where I am *telling* you what YOU must think.

You have no need to dictate now, but that can change in a dime. I lost the ability to use my left arm for a week recently.

I think you mean: I will never let my computer act autonomously using an LLM prompted by my instructions.

Dictation, powered by modern speech to text models is excellent, and you can’t divorce one use of the tech from the other.

And I reserve the right to yell expletives at my computer.

If you want to understand what kind of person someone you know is, look at how they treat the people they don't know, especially when it's not face to face.

Some interactions this week reminded me that some people are just assholes and nothing you can do will teach them empathy.

So you just have to move on and enjoy the people you've surrounded yourself with that give you joy.

Shaking my head as Americans throw their freedom and democracy into a burning garbage bin more every day.

The moment they crossed the threshold between the phosphorescent glow and the absolute dark, everything stopped. No sound of footsteps, no engines, no whispers, no breathing buildings. Just silence so complete it felt like death. And somewhere in that silence, something that had been waiting since she spoke those words in the tunnel finally smiled.

The 9km hike today is a big win for me. Was able to do it without any foot pain and with lower risk of reinjury thanks to the ankle brace. New orthotics were not a problem.

I still have some hip issues I need to work on with my physio. Goal is to walk 25km without pain.
