They want us to figure out what advantages there are. The strategy in the whole corporate world right now seems to be to force the employees to figure out how to make AI successful for them. They're promising CEOs that THEN AI will be take off. Putting their workforces on it. Genius grift.
Y'all, what do I do? If I say anything, it'll probably put me on the road to termination and blacklist me from promotion. I feel trapped.
Ah, my manager is now saying we will all be required to use AI "as a job requirement" in the next year.
This makes me so depressed. Think I'm gonna be sick.
I like the way you think. x3
I like the way you think.
Yeah, this is why I love the Furfest lottery system. The mad dash of the past for Furfest rooms still gives me nightmares. xD
Oh good it's not just me.
Anthrocon hotel booked... I think!
The website isn't saying I have a reservation, but I got the confirmation email and if I try to click the link to book it says I already did, so... hopefully that's just the website being slow.
Oh hell yeah, both excellent movies.
Cover of Black Angel, a Dangerous Spirits novel by Kyell Gold. A teenage anthropomorphic otter wearing a white baptismal robe floats underwater among the roots of cypress trees. She reaches upward through the water toward a shadowy figure above. Art by Rukis, Cover layout by Christine Foltzer
Cover of Green Fairy by Kyell Gold. In a grand, early-20th-century hall, an anthropomorphic fox in a flowing period dress dances at center. An anthropomorphic goat glances back over their shoulder on the left, while a black wolf on the right meets the readerβs gaze. Shimmering green sparkles drift between the fox and wolf, hinting at something magical.
Cover of Red Devil by Kyell Gold. Two anthropomorphic foxes sit side by side on a riverbank: Alexei, a male fox, and his sister Catarina. Behind them stands a dilapidated wooden cabin, with a modern city skyline rising in the distance. In the riverβs reflection appears another fox dressed in old-style military clothing, holding a sword. The rippling water distorts the figure, giving him a ghostly, fractured presence. Art by Rukis. Cover design by Christine Foltzer.

I like Toysuit. Starts with a T, has the same syllable count as Tunic, and is also the garment being worn. Easier to tell what it's referencing.
Right? Helps explain the switch to first person perspective. And it was brilliant realizing the events of the first two novels have been triggering for her the entire time too. Honestly one of my favorite characters in furry fiction.
New book review of Red Devil by @kyellgold.com! The second book in the Dangerous Spirits series.
The stakes have risen, and so has the spookiness...

This is absolutely unhinged and I love it.
Yeah! Not to mention the project management skills, software proficiencies, editing practice, and writing for different audiences.
I tend to say that technical writing and creative writing have more in common than one might think. Same skills, different applications.
Most creatives can't get the education or jobs that would give them the excess time, energy, cash, and experience needed to invest in their creativity. I find it tragic that even being able to sell out is a privileged position beyond most people's reach today.
I'm one of those creative writers who sold out and turned technical writer, so I can definitely agree with the message of the articles. I might add one interesting consideration: most creative people don't have the privilege of selling out.
("Selling out" as defined in the articles)

Don't worry, I'm not even sure in gonna say anything yet. Just doing prep work in case there's a low risk opportunity.
Hey all, my workplace is now trying to implement AI and I'd like to send my manager an email or two about it, but I need to cite sources so I don't just sound like I'm yelling at clouds. Could you please send me your best articles showing why AI sucks?
Designating the term "people" for billionaires and using the term "the middle class" to dehumanize everyone else is wild.
The rock with peace underneath it is actually a stone, not a rock. As the saying goes, we leave all of those unturned.
This is literally what the bad guys in Revelation do why do they think they're the good guys??? xP
One of the most depressing things I saw last year was a clip from an old documentary about how we were all going to have so much free time in the future. That society would be forever altered as we figured out what new and exciting things we can do with our freedom. They were so dang optimistic. :-(
Oh thank you so much! I'm happy to hear you appreciated the Gnostic element. It was interesting exploring how that theology might apply to the queer experience.
And he only gets hotter.
Yay, my short story Rapture is on the reading list for the CΓ³yotl Awards!
Here are the images they posted with all the short stories. Give em a read if you haven't yet! #FurryWriting
