I’m sorry for your loss
This is so worth a listen podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/t... thanks for being so honest and open and for all you are doing @natalie-fleet-mp.bsky.social
“I find it really offensive to be told that she committed suicide.”
Baroness Hayman talks about her terminally ill mother, who was facing the end of her life and stopped eating and drinking.
Assisted dying is for those who are already dying, and want control over their death.
Instead of conferring titles, gongs and baubles and then demanding those titles, gongs and baubles be removed…
…perhaps as a modern, mature polity we should have far fewer titles, gongs and baubles in the first place.
Huge huge congratulations to Young Lives vs Cancer and Rachel Kirby who have been campaigning for this for over 10 years, this will make such a huge difference to families at the hardest time.

Baroness Jay highlights a powerful truth: in countries with assisted dying, over a third of people who gain access never use it.
For many, it acts as an insurance policy against a painful death - offering reassurance, control and peace of mind.
The killing of Alex Pretti is a heartbreaking tragedy. It should also be a wake-up call to every American, regardless of party, that many of our core values as a nation are increasingly under assault.
Thank you.
YES !
A great evening with Shine Cancer Support at the launch of Overlooked and Undersupported — a powerful report documenting the experiences of young adults with cancer in the UK.
Congratulations to Ceinwen Giles on a superb piece of work, and on delivering such a thoughtful and impactful event.
Amazing. Congratulations!
This is so so good, they are all connected the best #thetraitors ever !
Happy New Year buddy
I hope you’ve had a good day - may we raise our glasses…
To absent friends
To those we have met
To those we have yet to meet
To those who have left us for a while
and to those who have left us forever
Let us lift our glasses
and drink a toast
That they may abide in our hearts forever
Can’t wait !
It’s the Winter Solstice, from tomorrow the days get longer, slowly but surely longer, a good reminder that this too shall pass.
I saw this on LinkedIn today, it hit home.
@antoniabance.bsky.social then please make sure that your government make time for proper scrutiny, but pass the bill supported by both the majority of MP’s and the public
As someone who volunteers as a listener at the @samaritans.bsky.social every week this makes me so angry we have a mental health crisis in this country, people are not simply finding life stressful. If your struggling 116123 you will be listened to without judgement
A sad day for me as I resign from the @teamlabouruk.bsky.social but I cannot be a member of a Labour Party that’s leader talks of “an island of strangers” and a Home Secretary that says “asylum is tearing the country apart,”
A yellow tractor on a London street, driven by a man dressed as Father Christmas. The sign on the front reads 'Farmer Christmas: The Naughty List. Keir Starmer, Rachel Reeves, David Lammy, Diane Abbott, Angela Rayner, the BBC.'
I think at this point if you're including Diane Abbott - a woman who has never held government office, has been a backbencher since 2020, and is scarcely a government ally - on your list of political wrongdoers, we all know exactly what your real concerns are
Turns out the media & most of Parliament is as out of touch with reality as Twitter. Dear England.
They know it. We know it.
and yet our leaders our still silent about it.
Terminally ill people do not have 20yrs for the House of Lords to delay this bill😔 I welcome scrutiny, and will meet with anyone to discuss the bill, but: “The concerted effort to block its progress by a very small number of peers, who are all against the Bill as a matter of principle, continues.”
No family should be driven into financial hardship & debt because their child needs life saving cancer treatment miles from home. @younglivesvscancer.bsky.social knows how vital young cancer patients travel fund is www.bbc.com/news/article...
By mimicking Reform to win back support, the Labour government is making a serious mistake. This race to the bottom emboldens Farage, punishes vulnerable people, amplifies racism, and undermines those working to hold communities together.
Well said. Thank you.
The general public support the assisted dying bill, it was passed by a majority of our representatives in the HoC. If this bill is frustrated by the unelected second chamber it should mark the point where we take a real look at how “democracy” in the UK works www.theguardian.com/society/2025...
Definitely say hello !
