Why doesn't anyone use Craigslist anymore
my workspace moved about two miles from the last office, but it has made my commute now 1.5hr instead of the previous 40 minutes, because I can no longer bike to it from Caltrain. I hate it
caltrain should couple one gallery car (the ideal bike car) to every emu
I think my local Walgreens uses my shopping habits to decide what products to stop stocking.
"Let's get rid of his shampoo, that'll really get him"
This has happened three times in a row now.
when they revealed the emus, I predicted that they'd end up retrofitting an additional car for bikes because of this issue. This is a much stupider approach
I don't think any of my bikes have a wheelbase shorter than like... 6'2"... my main commuter bike also has a milkcrate so fuck me I guess
it's more that caltrain just released an updated set of bike rules (apparently without even going through the CAC or BAC) that bans like... any functional bike
if I lived in D4 I think I'd be tempted to enter the supervisor race just to remind people what a (somewhat) regular person is like
love to complain the Sunset Dunes process was rushed after it took 5+ years and included 2 lawsuits, 2 ballot measures, 1 appeal, 2 Board of Appeals hearings, 2 Coastal Commission hearings, a couple rounds at the Board of Supervisors, and an uncountable number of public comments and meetings
hope you dont need to bring a bike with a basket on the train
oof (to Caltrain)
!!!! where?
got me on a technicality
the sunset is... against giving the unhoused homes....
I think it needs an underpass. the overpass is terrible, and I've gotten stuck in the elevator before and had to call the fire dept
is there a worse Caltrain station than Bayshore
every software engineer trying to use hardware:
(and also somehow me, an actual electrical engineer)
oh do you also work at my job?
I wasn't joking about the post where I was stuck inside BART because the gate was broken and the agent was missing. I was there for 15 minutes.
Or what about the time the gates fucked up at reading my cards and put me in a dangerous escalating scenario with an aggressive gate agent.
Nevermind the fact that for my specific physical disability, a bicycle _is_ a mobility assistive device
I have previously unelegantly described my thoughts to @trains.bsky.social about how navigating transit with a bicycle is a really crappy canary in a coalmine for trying to do the same with mobility devices. When we create accessible design it benefits everyone. These gates ain't that.
dude couldn't handle me posting pictures on the internet in response to a post by my good friend @scottgoblue314.bsky.social
lmao
"Why don't you just walk through?", I ask the mobility impaired person next to me
"I am having a good time", I say, trapped within Bart because the gate is down and the station agent is missing.
"This is an upgrade", I continue
"The new gates have not reduced user experience", I post, as I queue four bikes back to exit the station
i can't stop reading books
trade ya some of my California bees honey if you're into a cross country barter
I recognize I am an extremely rare holdout in that I have been so hardline anti-AI that I have still yet to use a chatbot willingly, but uh, I feel like every other story I read is about how all the consumer-facing stuff is a mental illness particle accelerator www.theguardian.com/technology/n...
