The Terminator is fantastic and I honestly think it's Cameron's best film. The sheer mood it creates is amazing and the puppet work is superb.
It created an amazing sense of threat, hinting at a future war that was never properly realised in the later movies. Terminator Resistance gave me that.

No, they announced the end of the license about September last year. I just don't think it had many books produced for it.

I'm still deciding whether to put myself through V The Series, as well. I've not watched it properly since the 80s.

You can read the original notes of my The Terminator RPG pitch here - I did detail a lot more but as it wasn't picked up I never finished it, but here's the basic premise. I was really pleased with the idea (it was an old idea of mine for a TV show).

The awesome news is that I just managed to get the 'The Terminator RPG: Resist' book at a great price and that completes my Terminator RPG collection!
I pitched for that game but I think it was already the end for it, which was a shame because it was a cool game and Nightfall did a great job.

Today's charity shop find - Brad Fiedel's soundtrack for Terminator 2 Judgement Day. I used to have this on cassette until it got eaten.
It's a fantastic OST for a great sequel. The first movie is my favourite but this one is filled with iconic moments and it was regularly in my video player.

Yeah, this is awesome and captures the mood of a campaign setting I'm working on right now. Paul's work is the fucking bomb.

I don't usually write posts where I'm down about stuff but sometimes I've just gotta say how I feel, especially when it's stuff I'm passionate about.

It didn't do it much, but they did it enough to sour the ending of the original movie for me.
It's frustrating because they did some cool worldbuilding and had some sweet locations beyond the movie, all ruined because they wanted to be 'relevant'.

I get that - there was something in there that could have worked but I couldn't grasp it. I even liked the new characters but they fell into the continuous 'witty conversation' bracket that annoys me with a lot of writing these days.

I hate the conceit on some shows that give beloved older shows a new life only to downplay, wreck or make pointless the strife and stories the original heroes endured either to create a plot with a modicum of impetus by leeching off the original, or to make the newer characters look good.
