I've read this one, except we're the ones victim to the crypto schemes, for very strange values of "we". Accelerando, by Charles Stross.

I got to play a game of Spirit Island with a group of people who have all played before, so we used an adversary with some real rules text, and I got to use a high complexity spirit since I didn't have the added mental load of being forced into quarterbacking. What a game. No wonder it's my fave.
The alternate domination of one faction over another, sharpened by the spirit of revenge, natural to party dissension, which in different ages and countries has perpetrated the most horrid enormities, is itself a frightful despotism. But this leads at length to a more formal and permanent despotism. The disorders and miseries which result gradually incline the minds of men to seek security and repose in the absolute power of an individual; and sooner or later the chief of some prevailing faction, more able or more fortunate than his competitors, turns this disposition to the purposes of his own elevation, on the ruins of public liberty. Without looking forward to an extremity of this kind (which nevertheless ought not to be entirely out of sight), the common and continual mischiefs of the spirit of party are sufficient to make it the interest and duty of a wise people to discourage and restrain it. It serves always to distract the public councils and enfeeble the public administration. It agitates the community with ill-founded jealousies and false alarms, kindles the animosity of one part against another, foments occasionally riot and insurrection. It opens the door to foreign influence and corruption, which finds a facilitated access to the government itself through the channels of party passions. Thus the policy and the will of one country are subjected to the policy and will of another.
Only if we're not counting George Washington as a founder, who had foreseen Donald Trump's Republican party by his farewell address.
In 2028 Kenan Thompson will have been on SNL for most of his life. In 2031 he will have been on SNL for most of its run.
A gas station sign displaying $9.899 unleaded and $9.999 diesel.
So this gas station isn't open yet, and I guess they decided they would just turn the sign on with a ridiculous price so that nobody would try to stop for gas. I'm not sure this strategy is going to work much longer.
Has anyone ever been better at editing than the person who cut the Cheers theme down to 60 seconds? The full length version sure is... something.
That's gross.
Thinking the next word generator plagiarism machine was conscious used to be shameful enough to get you fired from your AI job at google.
People get really worked up about this but I could care fewer.
Will Smith in front of a gas station sign for $6.639 gasoline. Super + costs $6.959.
The idea of $7 gas was once so unimaginable that $6.639 was the end times price from I am Legend.
LEGO Riker with trombone.
I spent $400 on the LEGO Enterprise because Riker comes with a trombone.
In Asimov's The Last Question, who exactly was providing the budget for Multivac to spend centuries probing the vector space to find the token sequence to attain godhood?
To this day I'm not sure if I liked Good Omens or if I was just crushing on her in it super hard. I'm pretty sure Andor was good for other reasons.
People should have lines on their bodies that don't really make sense as cybernetic implants but sort of imply the idea of cybernetic implants.
Changing physics seems hard.
If they steal an hour from is every spring they should have to pay it back with interest in the fall.
I think he may only have ever find that on his reality television show.
No, that was someone getting the TV rights to the Hitchhikers Guide radio series.
My 4the grader doesn't even get grades, they aren't a thing Montessori schools do, and is still stressed about schoolwork. She just comes from anxious people.
Got a B in the Health class I took first semester of college instead of the running class, and it was good to get that out of the way early.
Homer Simpson disappointed to learn that David Souter is a nerd.
"Homer knows a thing" is always good for a laugh.
I guess if they were using less abstract characters the leg of the A would be straight and the C is a curve so they don't fit together, but they're using the exact same bubble shape here.
Our reference implementation is experimental because we haven't worked all the bugs out, but wouldn't you like your own implementation with your own bugs to work out?
Yes, of course, the Dick Wolves.
Frig is my go-to minced oath when the children are around and it is all because of T-Rex.
I was going to post about how Toyota would sell you a chair with wheels and an engine for less than Graham Platner's grandpa's chair but then I looked up what a corolla costs now and wow.
Melora in her wheelchair.
It's also got accessibility issues.
Say what you will about the Cardassians but they understand civic planning.
When a horse has troubles with its bite the horse dentist always brings a folding chair for outdoor use to sit on during treatment. It is her champing care camping chair.
"Detailed contingencies" doesn't sound like optimizing for lethality to me.
