Call it whatever you want, feature or not. Plenty of countries have already identified the dodgy behavior and have cracked down on them. Not sure why you are even defending them. I use an iPhone and Mac too but I don't sit down to whine on Bluesky whenever Apple is forced to give me more choices.

You are conflating the platform with the digital market. In antitrust law, a relevant market is defined by consumer substitution. iOS users can't install apps outside the App Store, there is no substitute. That gives Apple total control in the App Store which is its own submarket.

So of the 56% market share they have over devices, they have complete control over what is published. How is that not a monopoly? Your argument is just "if you don't like it, pay another $1,000 except this time to Samsung/Google and then exclusively sell on Android to cut off half of your user base"

They do have full and total control over the marketplace. Even Android has allowed side loading and alternate marketplaces since forever. The only thing stopping them from pushing the profit cut up to 50% or bullying certain apps off their store is regulation laws like these.

Exclusive means taking a 30% cut from every developer on your platform then creating shady dark patterns when you get called out on your walled garden
