big news for people who give a care about smeech from mario galaxy 2

so you americans can understand imagine a burger. i could make a flat rounded cylinder with burger textures or model each ingredient more realistically. but now the detailed burger model is that specific burger. i can apply any variety of different burger or sandwich textures to the simple one

this is why i’ve always taken more of a liking to textures and simple effects and didn’t care too much about modelling. a simple model can hold so much potential for what can be applied to it but a detailed model is a lot more unmistakably specific to its own geometry and hard to reinterpret

that’s what i’m saying this is why that era of mario kart is so visually appealing

a bit of an ancient city in mario remash. the deepslate is various types of castle bricks along with smb1 style ground tiles and some blue square thwomps. the two sculk blocks that so far have textures now resemble mario sunshine's black goop

originally sculk was going to be the pink/orange goop from sunshine but i decided over time it looked kind of gross (in a bad way). so i edited it to be the black oily goop instead. this will let me keep the theme i'm going for while not making it look like neon puke
