Wolfe carrying Ringo
Wander Stars is a beautiful love letter to 90's anime in video game form. It's a story of adventure, mystery, and humor that plays out in episodes very much like an anime. All of the characters are fantastic in their own way, and I especially love the chemistry between Ringo and Wolfe.

As for in-engine Unity stuff we really just used basic camera post processing, nothing fancier than that. The 2D sprites do most of the heavy lifting!

In our case, to achieve the look for WS we focused on the colors and line art of the sprites themselves. We applied limitations similar to how cel animation was done back in the day. Tiny scratches or mistakes left purposely.
