Here’s another bookmark I made, it’s the Sunburst design, rosewood stain, rainbow colors.

The resin finish bubbled a bit because I was too impatient with the proper process. Now I have to drop the price or maybe just not sell it? I dunno.

Just deleted my Etsy shop and it feels great. I deliberately started this business to make art and not work for others.

Etsy’s policies and moving-target-algorithm is simply bullshit disguised as opportunity. I get more views in my front driveway for free.

Basswood cut into pieces to make boxes, bookmarks, and sun catchers, laying on a green cutting mat. The bookmarks are at the top, the box pieces are at the center with numbers for each box, and the box lids are to the left, which I also use to make sun catchers. I’m going to make key chains too, but those aren’t pictured here since I use the extra wood that comes from cutting the bookmark blanks.

I’m preparing for holiday markets coming up this weekend and next month, but it looks like I’m going to get rained on all weekend. Business has been getting worse for me the closer we get to the holidays. It’s like the more I try the worse it gets, but I’ll keep going bcs this is all I have left.

I painted this half-asses sunset the other day, I like how it turned out, but the whole point was to chop it up into a bunch of little tags for my bookmarks and boxes.

I’m very pleased with how they turned out, and now people will know the design names while perusing my work, yay. 🧚🏻‍♀️✨

Anyways I was just trying to come up with some clever and witty posts to promote my work, but this is all I could come up with for now 🥲

I also don’t have much time since I’m solo and I make everything by hand, and honestly I enjoy the accounting part more than the marketing, except for making the market flyers, I’d rather balance my books.

I wish I could afford to hire someone to deal with social media. I’ve never cared for it, I’m half introvert/half extrovert, I do better irl and I make the majority of my sales at live markets, but I need to promote my business online now and I can’t avoid it anymore. How do people do this for fun 😩

I thought this bookmark would sell a long time ago, it’s one of my favorites, but I guess it’s just me hahaha
