It’s #WorldHearingDay to raise awareness about hearing health and accessibility. Here’s my #SciArt #embroidery of the cochlea/inner ear—nave of vibration (2017)—which I did while researching my symptoms of hyperacusis.

hard agree on the layer effects though, i tend to revert to procreate exactly for that reason

procreate for all my astronomy stuff, but for geology & landscapes i use e-on VUE because i never ever want to learn blender. 😉

the biota of this planet is subtle—organisms akin to microbial colonies are abundant enough to visibly clump near shorelines and lakes, unable to trek far from the water’s edge. personal artistic liberties were taken with this representation as well!

i did lightly reference some NASA measurements for ocean accumulation, but focused more on overall artistic licensure than accuracy.

The relatively smooth, cracked surface of the moon Europa as photographed by NASA's Galileo spacecraft.
