We've had a lot of issues and PRs around updates - events, new videos, changelog, and more. I tried to bring all that together in the newsletter. ♥️
Let me know what you think and if you have ideas for March! ✨

Garbage collection time is exploding !
YJIT in test is disabled. Enabling it makes it even worst. We don't have any particular settings for the GC in our app
Yes it makes no sens. I ll try profile it
Has anyone noticed slow downs in Rspec test suite when upgrading from Ruby 3.4 to 4.0 ?
Our test suits with 4.0 is 2x slower than 3.4
We have no changes beside the Ruby version to upgrade to 4.0
Just wanted to share that @rubyevents.org looks really good, I recently found the page about TruffleRuby-related talks: www.rubyevents.org/topics/truff... and of course my own profile page: www.rubyevents.org/profiles/ere...
My schedule for January has changed.
I'll be going live every Sunday at 18:00 UTC, starting today!
This month we'll be focusing on RubyEvents. See you there!

Happy 2026, we hope to see you at a Ruby event soon! ❤️
#ruby #rubyevents #rubyfriends
So cool 👍
It's not *officially* sanctioned, but I made a social icon SVG for @rubyevents.org to go on the @blueridgeruby.com footer. Kinda satisfying. 😌
Congrats on the new Ruby website launch, this looks great!
Also very happy to see that @rubyevents.org is linked from the landing page! ❤️
Finally, www.ruby-lang.org/en/ has a new design.
VC only Rails dependency is ActiveSupport. I am pretty sure that if there is a breaking change in ActiveSupport it would be picked up by a CI running against Rails main.
yes. I have opened several issues to gem with a link to @byroot.bsky.social comment here github.com/svenfuchs/ra...
for those gems every last major Rails release was just updating that line. I think having in the readme and in the CI matrix the official supported version is good enough.
Dear gem maintainers 👋
Rails 8.1 just dropped, but many gems can’t be used because of overly strict gemspec constraints.
Please don’t hard-restrict Rails versions, let us test early and report real issues sooner! ❤️
Thanks
1h48:44 is quite sporty IMHO
As you are getting serious into running probably time to switch to Garmin for the watch 😂
Screenshot of the RubyEvents.org landing page which prominently features the Rocky Mountain Ruby 2025 conference.
The talk recordings from @rmrubyconf.bsky.social 2025 are now live on @rubyevents.org, go check them out!
We also just shipped a new look for the featured section on the home page! 🎨
Congrats this is an excellent achievement
If they offer you back the access will you accept it ? I think I read some maintainers refused when they were invited back.
Isn’t it the role of the foundation ?
Ruby Gems and Bundler will be moved into the Ruby organization.
* Ruby Core and Ruby Central will be managing it together
* No changes to license, IP, or copyright
* rubygems.org operated by Ruby Central

I don't like taking credits form others 😀
ah yes not really a gem though. I think most of the integration tests were generated by authentication-zero from what I remember
Curious about the details because I don't have any gem as far as I know
Preparing an event too it only really deviated when I felt from a horse 😭
Adrian Marin's Ruby Stamps Page on RubyEvents.org.
Additionally to collecting stamps in your physical @therubypassport.com, you can now also collect and see these stamps on @rubyevents.org!
I tried to explain why I don't believe the recent accusations toward my former teammates, as well as how the Ruby and Rails Infra team at Shopify operates and why it can be trusted.
