There was a new guy at Lenscrafters today. He wasn't sure why they were replacing my lenses.
Then he returns from the back, hands the new glasses to me, "Yeah, those were etched way too deep, I have no clue how they missed that."
The acknowledgement was nice. Still waiting to see what goes wrong
... lets see how lenscrafters fucks up the glasses this time.
Yeah, I'm... a little annoyed.
and then I could finally see /
all the eyes were following me /
whither here or whover there /
I could not escape the stare
I have written out dozens of the uniballs, and a few bics. They were okay.
I ... look at those pens in the picture and my wrist hurts...
I've never used the s-gel, but I have burned through a lot of pens, and... I remember using the cheapest off brand of ballpoints in school that even just remembering makes me ache.
I .. am wondering about... how much this has affected me... and for how long now.

I didn't realize how hard it was to read the tiny menu bars on my drawing screen until I switched glasses :|

email stating your opinion matters
ad copy of "we hope your new glasses are working out for you" when I am currently unable to wear said new glasses due to "oh, they all have that" etchings on the lenses ... that glare and craze like a scratch and sit right over menus I use.
I just want to say that... the three "your opinion matters" emails so far does not actually make me feel like my opinion matters.
Especially when they auto populate fields so poorly.
as our communication evolves, the tools we use and the offerings we leave evolve, too. I ... have been thinking about that a lot.
And about how ghosts are lingering on, as icons in a list.
As we celebrated the 10 years anniversary of the comic last weekend, we've decided to do a re-run of the comic! I'll be reposting the whole thing, one page weekly, on Mondays like we used to! The full thing is still all there on the website, if you want to binge-read it... 😉 www.thethiefoftales.com
One more unread message for god.

you have the perfect image to send to a friend
whose icon sits right there
but whose meat form has turned to dust.
You sit there staring
at the digital ghost, bytes in hand.

When we said POCKET GALLERY did u assume we meant mounting pieces in weatherproof Art Blocks & hiding them around the city in yet another attempt to encourage you to explore (& fall in love with) #Lethbridge...
..or was that kinda implied...? 🤔
I ... am seriously considering an optometrist appointment in April.
(big hugs and positive waves)
... the words, they hurt in the way that you sometimes need.

the perfect fluff is ghost watching.
Like... I'm not expecting instantaneous lenses here. I'm willing to wait for quality. But the combo of everything is where it is absurd.
(or I'll be issuing warnings >.> If this is how they behave with the upsell extended warranty.... what are they like with the regular warranty?)
(and there are FOUR of those T's.)
It sounds like they are trying to improve their metrics by not having repairs on file.
In good news, the cheaper online glasses I ordered last night
have already been made and shipped. Here's hoping I get some function back.
And the worst part is... realizing how much better these replacement lenses are - I'm not fighting to read my drawing tablet or anything else at that distance. It wasn't just me getting old...
I get that I am picky. I have light sensitivity, and I stare at details all day. I require the ability to use all of my lens. I like the active transitions.
I also don't think this is unreasonable for ... 750 dollar glasses.
I also think they're saying "standard" and it really Is Not.
I just discovered that it makes headlights flare and craze when they hit the etching so uh... yeaaaah.
Yes, it is.
I may be looking at the one cheap online place I found that made my sunglasses and just saying fuckit and getting a pair of simple glasses from them.
I do not know. And they said it was within parameters.
I may be salty after trying to work on a monitor today. Pros: in focus. Cons; scratch/blur regions.
t etching on my glasses lens
annoying T etching on my new lenses
these little *grumble*
Also, if I can photograph them one handed without my glasses on...
with age, the strange grows stronger, and we grow more powerful.
