It's hard to put into words how much of a difference you can make to someone's day simply by reading a story they wrote, sharing it, and telling them that you liked it. Not only is the reading itself a worthwhile pleasure, it's also just a wonderful gift. It's so worth doing

Theresa getting over her trauma of Second Eruption, only to have her trauma of Current ch9 and onwards in New Era because of tunafied Sirin reminding her of Kiana.

2+ years without an update. I swear I'm working on it...

specifically obsessed with her relationship with identity. IMO Kia definitely knew a lot more about her past, but disassociation hit her like a brick.

The antagonists is another problem because its either I write another incarnation for New Era or outright bring back previous onew and break canon (which is fine but also a lot of work to pull off)

That also makes writing stakes a bit nebulous because most of the surviving CE cast aren't at the same power as they would be in the equivalent timeframe. Hua being in control of Garuda genes, Theresa Vishnu shenanigans etc well before ch1

the most stressful part about New Era AU is having to be conscious of worldbuilding, etc.

An important aspect of the AU is taking place post-CE (alternate ending obviously), otherwise it would just be a roleswap AU with a bunch of random additions

non-chronological storytelling could help, but also that means throwing out conventional structures and pacing...

what if New Era Sirin grows taller than Kiana, instead of being the same height...

Probably not by much, say a barely noticeable +0.5cm, but she notices that's something happened immediately and when she finally figures it out, she acts like its a huge milestone all :0
