TBH, I MIGHT actually like the film more if I give the Director's cut a watch.

Might be a Spiderman 3 situation where it genuinely improves the film lol.

I'll give it this. I do remember that one scene of the lady getting skeleton'd and Luigi going "Lmao" getting a bewildered reaction out of me at least lol.

So it IS possible that I got a better impression because if I had heard the poorly placed music that used in the theatrical cut of the 2023 film, I'd hate the film even more lol.

I'll give 90s Mario this. Aesthetically cool, definitely taking some Brazil/Blade Runner inspiration.

I watched em back to back a couple years ago.

I feel the 90s film is boring. That said, I watched the Theatrical Cut and I hear the re-edited directors cut improved it so maybe I'll give it another go.

I watched an edit of the 2023 film that restores the intended soundtrack which slightly helped.

I've actually been seeing talk of how the 90s movie "was always good" since the 2023 movie came out that I just never agreed with.

Not saying you can't like it tho. It's got its charms for sure.

I personally made my cut off once DWJ left the run. I felt quite satisfied putting the book down there just because I had the feeling they were never going too top it.

2's gameplay is even tighter than 1's but 1's still absolutely worth playing.
