Aw that makes me so happy to hear you like them! Yup yup, it's Timbre (TAM-BUR) like the tone of a piece of music! Their mesh was used as the base for every character made in the series so far (minus the purple slug), thus how they got their name!

For sure! They're mostly around draw distances. More 3D meshes now fade at a distance, especially details such as shadows. I also reduced the amount of particles emitted for some effects that I felt were drawing an unnecessary amount.

Nice! I never completed it but have tried Gaia but never finished it. Fire Red playthrough def has me thinking of checking some out again along with silver (which I didn't finish as a kid).
