I love how your buddies scream for you

During the torture scene, you are warned about no continues. Knowing how Kojima thinks, it’s clear that the antagonist is speaking to you, the player. Despite this, I died during the scene, and had to back track to get the sniper rifle and beat that boss.

I’ve never played the original so I won’t attempt to compare. But I doubt it would have saved the game for me, as my other complaints would still exist.

DQXI is an excellent game.

Dragon Quest VII completed. 41 hours plus a few more for some end game stuff. Do I recommend it? No. The story is bland and it too frequently tells you what to do. Did I enjoy it? As with all DQ games, it’s oddly soothing and charming. Will you enjoy it? No idea.
