The Final Destination MRI scene
Well, just finished my first MRI. When I tell you, all I could think about was this scene from Final Destination: Bloodlines. IYKYK
One pediatrician βtestified that she had witnessed childrenβs medical treatment, sometimes in the middle of chemotherapy, disrupted because their parents had been detained or deported by ICE β¦ there is no insurance plan, no transportation to the hospital, no one to pick up prescriptions.β
It does not, but I can understand the confusion because that's been a trope I've seen in so many movies or shows.
Not that this should matter, but she entered this country legally on a tourist visa and was applying for political asylum (as a journalist).
Whatever just happened to Kristi Noem transcended schadenfreude. Like we gotta find a new expression.

Oops that should be winning the *Democratic Senate primary*
Talarico says it does not matter who wins in the Republican runoff. Talarico says that it's clear who he is running against: "the billionaire donors and their corrupt system." And then he says that is the threat they (the billionaires) are worried about. And then that's it! Short and sweet.
After some initial remarks, Talarico thanks Congresswoman Crockett, and there's applause from the crowd. "I am so grateful for her voice and her leadership." He also said it was "an honor to run this race with her" and that it's up to him to earn the support from her voters.

This cannot continue. There must be real accountability for ICE and DHS.
TX32 results in the Republican primary showing a runoff
An interesting race I'm following is the Republican primary in the redrawn #TX32 north and east of Dallas. Republicans (including Trump) coalesced around Jace Yarbrough, who has fallen below the 50 percent threshold. Could be a runoff against billionaire Ryan Binkley.
2:00 AM update from Dallas County DA's race, Creuzot narrowly trailing
The steroids I'm taking really kick up my insomnia, so here I am. There was another Dallas County update at 2:00 showing current District Attorney John Creuzot trailing challenger Amber Givens.
By the time we get to the May 26 runoff in Texas..: Iβll be entering a new decade
Candidates in Texas need to clear a 50.1 percent threshold, so if these hold itβs a runoff

These are the early vote numbers for the new #TX33 showing Colin Allred leading Julie Johnson 46-34
Just a heads up for folks, Crockett told her crowd at a Dallas election party that she doesn't expect there to be results tonight... unclear if/when Talarico will be addressing his supporters at a party in Austin
