my dragon stompers, thigh padding.... everything.... was too big to comfortably fit, and i had to politely try to squeeze in between some seats without taking anyone out with my tail

i don't hate fun! i just hate it when a service starts out with a sleek clean look, and then becomes a "bloated appstore"

But with time and more connections, even that has gotten so much easier.

It's no longer such a struggle to get my foot in the door. And I hope that's the case for everyone else in our not-so-little community too!

The biggest lesson I learned at my first furry con was: nothing's gonna happen unless you make it happen yourself.

You have to put yourself out there. Post selfies, hit up mutuals you want to meet, go to events, and don't wait around for everyone else to make it happen. 👈

Whenever there was a quiet moment, I'd go up to the couches on the third floor, and there was always at least 10 people I recognised there. A luxury to have at cons that I don't take for granted! 🐾

Lastly, I have to praise my kobolds (everyone attached to my stream or our social events).

Once again, we made up like 1-2% of the total convention attendence 😅

It is night and day between when I first started going to furry cons knowing no-one..... and now, having ~100 people I know well & trust

There was a tangible excitement for the event locally, instead of an uneasiness. And I have to attribute that to how great of a relationship NFC has built with the city of Malmo. And it made me feel so safe and wanted! 💖🦊

I never got anything but compliments when I fursuited around the city, even!

Hotel staff recognised me from last year, and wanted pics again. The Swedish journalist who put me in the papers two years back came up to chat! ✨

Everyone was so respectful towards me. And I'm not just talking furries, but the local populace as well. Everyone asked first, before snapping photos and hugging.

Hot dogs & Dorito bags were kept at a respectable distance, as to not stain my fur! Thank you, on all accounts 💙
