A redtailed hawk taking off from a leafless branch. Its wings and tails are fully extended, showcasing the striking dark/light banding there. It was shot at a full 600mm so the depth of field is very shallow, giving great blur to the green grasses, tan boulders and oak trees on the hillside beyond it.

Yeah, they're very wary. Even with him, I move really deliberately and make as little direct eye contact as possible. Otherwise he's liable to spook.
