A redtailed hawk taking off from a leafless branch. Its wings and tails are fully extended, showcasing the striking dark/light banding there. It was shot at a full 600mm so the depth of field is very shallow, giving great blur to the green grasses, tan boulders and oak trees on the hillside beyond it.
Big ol' chonkadonk of a redtail taking off from a tree on our property.
Aw, thanks, Lotus! Hope you're well.
Distant mountains highlight a passing storm, light etches the folds on ridges and peaks.

Grogeous, Jackson!
A canyon with granite boulders and oak trees enshrouded in thick cloud.
The view outside the homestead had been pretty atmospheric this last week. Looking down the canyon below our place. #landscape #photography #clouds #trees
Brilliant image. Love the cools and the warms. How many in the pano?
Just groans, man. Horrible, sad groans. π
If that were true, Iβd be churning out novels. π€£
Oh no you din't!!!
Yeah, they're very wary. Even with him, I move really deliberately and make as little direct eye contact as possible. Otherwise he's liable to spook.
A picture of a raven fully facing the camera from head to almost its legs. Its mouth is wide open - in mid-call. Black and white image with shallow depth of field - good bokeh in background.
This is my friend Roscoe. We've bonded over the years. Some days he comes along when I walk the dogs. He's allowed me within 6 feet of him. Pretty special relationship. #raven #corvid #wildlifephotography #wildlife #bird #photography

Live in the moment as much as you are able.
Ain't that the truth. My pile of to-read grows as I half-arsedly muddle through 6 at the same time. π
A bobcat walking up a grassy slope. The grass is brown and limbs of fallen oak trees litter the background.
Literally just walked out onto our back deck and this pretty lady was staring straight up at me. Ran back in for my camera but she was gone, so I made an educated guess and caught her moving off our property into the neighboring lot. #bobcat #wildlife #wildlifephotography #photography
This one did
A raven and California condor perched on a boulder. The raven stares at the condor in disbelief. Shallow depth of field with a green mountainside in the background.
Good morning #blueskyfam! Here's a raven trying to wrap its head around a California Condor's sheer size. #raven #corvid #wildlifephotography #photography #condor #californiacondor
This is gorgeous
Been a long time since The Caterer at the Whitefire. Glad you're here.

The closer we are to the land, the more obvious it is that we are not separate from it.
Definitely giving you the stink eye. π€£
