also on that note i have *paid* jetbrains and whenever i try to use their IDE there's constantly advertising for AI ?? the last time i installed it it had two separate "AI Agents" open by default and buttons for AI on the top, bottom, left, and right sides of the screen. its so horrible now too :<

i haven't been bothered by it. on install you can just flip the switch / put this in the settings.json: { "disable_ai": true }
then there are no "ai" features and autocomplete comes from the LSP. it even removes all the buttons

personally, compared to vs code and jetbrains, it has less AI for me
