Why should the Dem leadership immediately cry foul every time a MAGA pol says something heinous?
- There aren't enough hours in the day.
- These assholes CRAVE attention; "triggering the libs" is their goal!
- It wouldn't accomplish squat.

Love Wicked? Stan Darren Cris? This 80s-Pop-Rock-style cover of "I'm Not That Girl" should entertain you as much as it did me. Catchy!
And we all need some smiles nowadays (well, recently, pretty much every day <sigh>)

Toni is a wonderfully thoughtful and insightful exec, who has shown that you can build a real business around open software. Finding someone who can execute and who understands the vision of an open protocol at the same time is rareβToni gets it. I'm excited to see what Toni and Jay build together.
I keep hearing that Reddit's a cesspool, but nearly 100% of my daily use of the service is helpful, often uplifting, or, both:

I've done a good job curating the subreddits I join, and so each session typically includes learning, supporting, celebrating :)
I am shocked, SHOCKED that assholes are using a powerful tool to do bad stuff.
Next up: Miscreants abuse printing press, telephones...
The man nose no limits.
I was SO pleasantly surprised and delighted that they somehow fit the whole orchestra there. While I'm sure their talented pianist (and music director) would have done a stellar job reducing the score, it just wouldn't have been the same.
And FWIW, I did some MHE pianostrations :)

Such a lovely Tiny Desk concert!
www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0WT...
Features the #maybehappyending (musical) cast, writers, and full orchestra (!).
Adored this show! Hope y'all can see it on Broadway or on tour!
(Note: Darren is channeling his old-model, awkward robot character from the show)
I just want government officials who
1) understand tech
2) value society more than they prioritize virtue-signaling.
Why is this so hard?!
(the bill below is so incredibly stupid AND it passed in a "tech" committee 6-0 π€¦π»)

@masnick.com have you covered this yet?
Don't worry, he's gonna write a sternly worded letter!
Ah, I was wrong! The Seatbelts performance still has tickets!
1) Go to www.kingstheatre.com/events/yoko-...
2) Click on MEDIA PRESALE
3) Use code ANIMENYC
I think she's my fav composer-performer of all time, with such a breadth of talent across genres, and such a playful and engaging performer! (though so far I've just seen her in videos).
I'm seeing performances featuring Yoko Kanno two nights in a row in NYC, and I don't know what I can do to top that for the rest of the year!
Her April 10 one with Seatbelts is sold out, but there are still tickets for her "Piano Me" concert on April 11!

I do sometimes wonder if -- amidst all the "Hey, been ages since we chatted, how are you?" texts I've marked as spam -- there's actually one or more that've been from legitimate friends whose numbers I didn't recognize and who are now sad that I ignored them getting back in touch :(
Ha, for sure. Ugh :(
Yeah, it's nuts.
No way in hell am I playin' with clawdbot, er, moltbot, I mean OpenClaw or whatever for a while 'til the security stuff gets tightened up.
But it's also all fascinating to watch. And concerning. And sometimes damn funny.
Hard to explain the popularity?!
Only seriously uncurious people would not be fascinated by this experiment. Love it, hate it, whatever, it's still both interesting and concerning what's goin' on here.
Every time someone tells me that interoperable protocols are too complicated for the average person, I point out that they use email and the web.
The goal needs to be to get atproto to the point that it is just "how the internet works" and the details fade into the background like https & smtp.
Yep, gotta say this is the essay that is likely pushing me to finally try Claude Code!
Fair, and agreed. Shoulda put "hot" in quotes.
Not sure if it's an indication of Bluesky's success or my own burgeoning popularity here (LOL), but I'm getting an increasing number of scammer-follows here nowadays.
You know, the hot younger women sliding into your DMs "So how is your day? May I call you Adam?" π
DO. NOT. WANT. :\
This guy used AI to craft an isometric map of NYC & it's dang cool!
cannoneyed.com/isometric-nyc/
I especially enjoyed his behind-the-scenes commentary: cannoneyed.com/projects/iso...
I think @bmcclendon.bsky.social and @kenjilambert.bsky.social may enjoy this, and other mapheads, too :)
A young, angry boy accusingly points his finger at an unseen someone. There is "The Twilight Zone" logo in the lower left
We're living in a Twilight Zone episode!
The boy "lacks emotional development, holds his terrified family & neighbors in thrall to his every juvenile wish"
They (like our GOP congress) had the power to stop him at every turn, but didn't... so he continued to impulsively tear the community apart.
Yes, but CBS... oh, wait
Wondering how the zillions of Americans named "Al" are feeling nowadays.
[All the Japanese named Ai: Hold our Sapporo!]
Everyone should buy an EV because... who really wants an "ICE" car nowadays?!
Sign says "SPOT EMU" (in all caps)
I tried but wasn't able to! :(
And I am once again begging bsky devs to increase the credit limit, which lags behind almost every other dang site.
Mastodon, Twitter (albeit just paid), Threads, Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp groups, Signal groups... the list goes on and on.
Bluesky is a painful outlier here.
I get wanting to be creative and such, but this is one of those areas where standardization would really be helpful, no?
