If Trump gets his war with Iran he might try to use that as the emergency under which he takes power over elections since he and the GOP aren’t looking hot in the poles.
We had a deal with Iran to ensure limits on its nuclear capacities. Trump ended that deal. Now he says that sending our young people off to fight and potentially lose their lives for this country is just a ‘cost of war.’ This is the cost of his broken promises. No war with Iran.
There is no reason for this besides the persecution of trans people. This is evil.

I see many people sharing Trump’s recent post and calling out the obvious racism in it. While it is absolutely disgusting, it is not at all surprising. Trumps racism (and misogyny, ableism, transphobia) have been on full display since before he was ever elected (the first time).

The way ICE is acting on Minnesota streets is as reminiscent of slave patrols as the Gestapo. We need not compare what is happening to history in another place, because it harkens back to our own history. It is our inability to recon with and repent of our history that has gotten us here today.
What we are experiencing in the US right now is not a new American version of Nazi style fascism. What we are experiencing is the continuation and grown the home grown White Supremacy and Christian Nationalism.
They’ve already started checking documents on jet bridges.
Please pay attention to the dissonance between Trump’s praise and support of protests in Iran and his discussion of calling in the military on protests in Minneapolis and Minnesota. In both cases people are protesting authoritarian government.
It is my fear. And sadly many of my neighbors (we are 20-30 miles from Minneapolis) would cheer on such Imperial action from the Feds in the city.
