As an LGBTQ person who supports progressive Islam, I think this flag is kinda silly. But maybe I'm just old fashioned?

This version of the flag is so diverse -- and so abstracted from reality -- that it loses all focus and meaning.

Curious what people make of this Sufi maxim:

“The learner should know that he gains more from mistakes of his teacher, even if that teacher makes mistakes, than he gains from his own rightness, even if he is himself right.”

I don't know what to make of the middle section, but the rest fits with my observations. Doesn't even have to be mistakes by the teacher, could be the person's own mistakes, if they have either the support or knowledge to figure out what caused the mistake.

I’ve been reading a lot about Sufism which has a great deal in common with some forms of therapy. A main difference, however, is total obeisance to the teacher in Sufism. The assumption, of course is that the Sufi teacher is enlightened. Therapists certainly are not, but they are idealised.
