Curious what people make of this Sufi maxim:

I don't know what to make of the middle section, but the rest fits with my observations. Doesn't even have to be mistakes by the teacher, could be the person's own mistakes, if they have either the support or knowledge to figure out what caused the mistake.
Iโve been reading a lot about Sufism which has a great deal in common with some forms of therapy. A main difference, however, is total obeisance to the teacher in Sufism. The assumption, of course is that the Sufi teacher is enlightened. Therapists certainly are not, but they are idealised.
