Why can't a bank treat an account as a time series and run some basic AI models to identify outliers and warn their customers? Most banks seem to expect their customers to do this verification manually. Are there any online banking solutions out there offering this kind of features?

you're right, I'm not. To be fair my post was a bit silly. The point I was trying to make was more about the trust we put in our tools rather than the tools themselves. I'm 100% with you we shouldn't trust any code and rely on testing and observability.
