Business and Marketing I Gave My First Conference Talk! I had to double take when I saw that Chris Wuβs first-ever conference talk was about time zones! Thatβs quite the topic to start with, Chris, but Iβm so glad that you did, and that it inspired this fantastic write-up of your experience. β€οΈ I hope it encourages some of you to submit a proposal to your favourite conference for a talk! Videos Swift Leeds Videos 2025 Speaking of Swift Leeds, the organisers finished posting all the session videos from last monthβs conference. There are plenty of talks and a panel discussion to pick from. However, given the previous link, itβs worth noting that Swift Leeds had four brand-new speakers: Kim Gyuri, Erin Sparling, Oksana Shcherban, and, of course, Chris Wu, who you read about above.
REALLY appreciate this nice write up in @iosdevweekly.com about my blog post for my talk at @swiftleeds.co.uk .
Thank you so much @daveverwer.com !

I wrote a blog post about my adventure in the UK giving my first conference talk, which was at @swiftleeds.co.uk .
Thanks to @flarup.bsky.social @0xtim.bsky.social @joshdholtz.com and Adam for inspiring me to do this.

A sketchnoting workshop, featuring Feli speaking to an audience. Participants engage with materials on tables, including markers and notebooks with sketches. A monitor displays notes from the session.
Some impressions from my last sketchnoting workshops at @swiftleeds.co.uk π itβs the best feeling when a planned icebreaker exercise results in laughter and more engagement!
A recording of my talk Best Practices in SDK Development" has been published by the amazing @swiftleeds.co.uk team. I haven't watched it due to severe cringe-related issues, but if you're interested in building SDKs, you may find it interesting.

The Sketch Note workshop that @felibe444.bsky.social put on at @swiftleeds.co.uk was GREAT.
And I'm not just saying that because I won the Lego set! π

I had a great time at @swiftleeds.co.uk, where I got to meet so many amazing people! Like we say in Sweden - "Ingen nΓ€mnd, ingen glΓΆmd" (No one mentioned, no one forgotten). I enjoyed giving my talk "Best Practices in SDK Development", and answer some questions here:

One of the things I love about @swiftleeds.co.uk: the attention to detail. This is one of the nicest conference badges I've ever gotten.
I answered the questions the audience at @swiftleeds.co.uk submitted for my talk on my blog page I made for Swift Leeds:

A collage featuring various scenes, including a park with a sketchnote title βThat oneβ on an iPad, the stage of SwiftLeeds 2025, a fancy dining table with tofu, a group photo of accessibility friends, a workspace with art supplies for a sketchnoting workshop and the streets of Leeds with sunset
Had the best time at @swiftleeds.co.uk this week! I gave two #sketchnoting workshops and was blown away by participantsβ enthusiasm. Seeing people try sketchnoting during talks made me so proud π₯Ή
Sharing sketchnotes of some talks in this thread π§΅
Me and Adam taking a selfie outside the Leeds Playhouse.
I was about 5 trillion miles outside of my comfort zone this week with my first conference talk (in a different country no less).
Adam and his team at @swiftleeds.co.uk were so supportive.
I definitely want to go back. What a wonderful experience this conference is.
A colorful sketch that outlines some of the main points from my talk that I gave today. Itβs full of snippet and cute drawings and seems impossible to make in such a short time.
Wow, look at this sketch that @felibe444.bsky.social completed almost immediately after my @swiftleeds.co.uk talk.
I love it! π€©

Me, with a black tee. Robin Kanatzar, wearing a blue-and-white patterned blouse. Bottom row: Dani Devesa, in his classic vest attire. Feli Bernutz, with a black tee and colorful vest.

A whiteboard filled with colourful sketches and doodles illustrating various visual communication techniques. It includes sections on visual alphabet, arrows, bullet points, containers, and text styles, along with playful elements like a penguin and a comic strip. The sketch is credited to @oliverbinns.co.uk and is associated with Swift Leeds 2025.
A whiteboard with handwritten tips titled "Feli's Top Tips," encouraging creativity and experimentation. Suggestions include using minimal colours, leaving space for ideas, and not aiming for perfection. Emphasizes ignoring rules and includes playful elements like emojis and a reminder to write text before banners.
Really really enjoyed @felibe444.bsky.socialβs sketchnoting session at @swiftleeds.co.uk today, what do you think of my attempts? π
