Slow morning at the shop, late shipment, and a new โtextbookโ to study drawing the sea (along with the need to make art to combat general despair) means a little experiment thatโฆ sorta works?

A drawing borne of grief, sadness, and fear.
Stayed up so I could be angry longer.
Sloppagne is of course AOC and only applies to AI produced by server farms in France.
A drawing of a baobab tree and some other flora with a moon and bao๐บbab porto written between the moon and the tree. Plus thereโs a little beer visible above the drawing.
Skeeting into the void.
But Iโm in Portugal right now and must go back very soon.
Wondering what and why. Iโm getting news in fits and starts and questions from people here and itโs all unbelievable.
Itโs all so damn cruel.
A drawing of a snake-ghost cat in a twirled, spring-like form floating(?) or jumping (?) next to or into an armchair. Black Posca on paper.
Realized this morning that I hadnโt drawn at all so far this year, and this little snake-ghost cat was in my dreams last night, so here we are.
Hereโs to a 2026 thatโs, at the very least, different.
I predict 2026 will be the stupidest year in US history. Not stupidest thus far. Like after this year there will never be a year this stupid again.

While supplies last, you can save 10% on these radical planners.
Plus most everything else is 10% off, AND all hardbacks are 20% off through Wednesday, December 31!
be kind.

We need to hear some wins right now.
Please share victories for collective action, cooperation, etc.
Human artists doing great things on a small scale, communities finding their unhoused members homes, local foodways, pedestrian & bike friendly projects, strange guerrilla art, moments of joy.
An illustration of a scene from Fargo drawn in the style of the comic strip The Far Side: Marge encountering the wood chipper situation and exclaiming, โOh Jeez.โ
Iโve been rewatching the Coen Bros filmography this month and while drawing a Barton Fink illustration, it struck me how much their films feel like Far Side cartoons: funny, strange, clever, yet frequently inscrutable. Anyway hereโs a thread!
A๐๏ธ has really just fried google results, huh?
That a-ha theme is damn near perfect, too.

The handmade, human qualities of your work are more valuable than they've ever been. Don't doubt that for a second.
This is fantastic. Flying Nun stuff rarely disappoints.

Tapping my sign again.
I want every social and entertainment apps I use to understand that I do not want to look back on this year. THIS YEAR?? No, actually. I do not. No thank. Memory hole now please.
