Farewell to a Nova Scotia that will no longer tolerate cuts to programs that enrich us all

We are just going to become a playground for ultra rich people and fuck everyone else aren’t we?
Is that good? I think it's good. Sorta. Maybe not, tho, eh?
NS folks: I am trying to book bloodwork through the NS Health app, and when I tap "blood collection" it takes me to mental health and addictions. Anyone else having this experience?
I don't understand this comment.
I iz old.
The tech assholes are fucking with me.
I wear glasses because I'm old and need glasses but also because I fear sticking contact lenses into MY FUCKING EYE. That's crazy! But now, with these pervert glasses, I'm afraid that everyone will think I'm well, a pervert.

We also want to get out to parks, beaches, trails, and other green spaces. Budget cuts are destroying everything.
For those who missed it, my @halifaxexaminer.ca Morning File today. More on the provincial budget and its effects, stories by too many Examiner writers to tag, plus, a book recommendation! (Spoiler: it's @elliottgish.bsky.social's debut novel, Grey Dog.)

The current President of the United States is as fully impaired as was President Woodrow Wilson after his massive stroke on 2 October 1919. Apparently, there is a consortium of administration 'officials' including Vought and Miller who are cos-playing the role of Edith Galt Wilson.

Asked how he can justify maintaining SailGP funding in the face of budget cuts, Houston told @timbousquet.bsky.social:
“It all comes down to, you know, let’s see, what are the opportunities to grow the province? What are the opportunities? They’re just decisions that are made, always examined..."

I’m just here to ask the premier a question myself. Article will be published immediately after. Folks might be interested in it.

Instead of Googling Epstein, Aaronson, then 29, turned to what he considered an even more reliable source: his mother. She did some checking. “Be careful not to get sucked up in the slime-machine going on here,” she wrote back, adding, “Since you don’t care that much about money, they can’t buy you.” Her wise counsel, Aaronson says, saved him from doing something he later would have greatly regretted. “If not for my mom, I might have gone and talked at a workshop to kick off the project,” he says. “I don’t think doing that would have made me complicit. But, you know, it would have been very embarrassing for me.”
Here's to Scott Aaronson's mom. (And to Scott, who listened to her).

The warning signs included a web search, a mother’s doubts, and inklings of a “sexist attitude”

We know the worst people in the world are gaming everything, and now it's come to this:
Oh, for sure. This is the second part of my second one. It's fine.
Somehow, we're getting another 6 inches of snow tonight. Enough to have to shovel, not enough to cancel my 9am root canal.
