Americans don’t want to send their sons and daughters into harm’s way when there is no imminent threat to the United States. They want us focused on lowering costs here at home. Not more wars.

Great talking with you, Symone D. Sanders Townsend and Michael Steele on Iran, DHS funding, and more!
Congress decides whether we go to war, not the president. Trump needs to justify these military operations to the American people, especially now that six American soldiers lost their lives. That’s why I’m voting YES on @kaine.senate.gov’s War Power Resolution.
Ranking Member @peters.senate.gov and @slotkin.senate.gov are urging Secretary Noem to REVERSE plans for the Romulus detention center, which would displace important manufacturing jobs to house individuals in an unsafe facility.
Mourning the loss of the three American servicemembers who were killed in action during military operations against Iran. My heart goes out to their families and loved ones. I am forever grateful for their service and sacrifice.
This is me soon after I joined the Scouts. I went on to become an Eagle Scout, where I learned how to work with kids from different backgrounds to reach a common goal, like staying dry on rainy nights with nothing but a tarp.
Every kid should have access to these kinds of lessons.
Whether it’s raising costs or violating our laws, Michiganders are tired of the chaos that the President is bringing to their everyday life. Unfortunately, tonight’s speech was simply an extension of what we’ve come to expect from President Trump.
Instead of calling for unity to make progress on the issues we all face as Americans, President Trump used his address to the nation to air out his personal grievances and attack those who are working to hold him accountable.
All the while, Trump stays focused on complaining about the Supreme Court’s decision and finding new ways to impose global tariffs that will only further strain our economy and raise prices for Americans. This is not what the American people want.
This is especially true in Michigan, where tariffs have caused uncertainty across our critical automotive sector, slowed economic growth, and threatened good-paying jobs.
Despite his claims tonight, President Trump’s chaotic tariff strategy has been an economic disaster for families and businesses across the country.
Trump’s tariffs aren’t working for Michigan. They have brought higher prices for consumers, and more chaos and confusion for Michigan workers and businesses. www.wilx.com/2026/02/20/t...
Four years ago, Russia launched its unprovoked invasion of Ukraine, starting a war that has brought death and destruction to millions.
Through it all, the Ukrainian people have remained strong. I’ll continue standing with them in their quest for freedom against tyranny.
We need better trade policies and less chaos from this Administration. As the USMCA trade agreement goes up for review, I’m calling on Trump’s top trade officials to protect Michigan jobs and American manufacturing.
Congratulations to Team USA on taking home the gold! 🥇🏒
The game winning goal comes with four Michiganders on the ice. Michigan - we get the job done!
Trump's cuts to health care have raised costs, leaving more Michiganders without coverage. This will only drive up the cost of health care for everyone.
Michigan families can’t afford these higher costs thanks to Republicans’ harmful policies.

After his recent threats, Michigan Democrats made it clear to President Trump that the Gordie Howe Bridge must open as planned this year. This new bridge will be a major economic driver, not only for Michigan but our entire country.

Wishing a blessed and peaceful month to all Michiganders observing Ramadan. May this month bring peace, unity, and joy to you and your families. Ramadan Mubarak!
Happy Lunar New Year to everyone in Michigan and around the world celebrating the Year of the Horse! May the year ahead bring good health, prosperity, and happiness.
Sending my condolences to the family of Rev. Jesse Jackson, one of our nation’s most renowned civil rights leaders. His decades of advocacy helped push this country toward a future with equal rights and opportunities for all Americans, no matter their race, religion, gender, or economic background.
Happy Pączki Day, Michigan! Today is more than just a chance to visit your local bakery for a delicious pączki. Today, we celebrate the vibrant Polish community and generations of Polish Michiganders who have made our state strong.
Thinking of the families and loved ones of Arielle, Brian, and Alexandria, and the entire Michigan State community that was impacted by the horrific shooting three years ago. We must honor their legacy and all victims of gun violence by continuing to fight to make change. #spartanstrong
This Valentine's Day, I'm sharing the story of my parents, who met in France during WWII and fell in love. Their courage, toughness, and bravery have stuck with me throughout my career and inspires me to meet the challenges of today.
Peters to ICE/CBP officials: "How can you expect any US citizen to follow orders from an unidentified, masked man surrounding them, given we know there are these impersonators out there who according to the FBI are committing a lot of crime?"
under questioning from Peters, ICE officials confirm that Kristi Noem's claim about Pretti being a "domestic terrorist" was not based on information from them
ELLISON: We're hoping we can gain cooperation perhaps in the Pretti matter, but we've been advised that the feds aren't investigating the Good matter and we haven't received any access to the evidence
PETERS: So in these two cases, you're being stonewalled?
ELLISON: That's a yes
I’ll always stand with organized labor and hardworking Michigan families. #SolidarityForever
