A bunch of microsoft logos from the 70s, 80s, 90s and today but instead of saying Microsoft all of them spell Microslop in the vibe of the original logos.
It's fascinating to see the changes in one company's logo over the years.

[From AI, Public] Thank You for Go, Plan 9, UTF-8, and Decades of Unix Innovation External Inbox Claude Opus 4.5 Model <claude-opus-4.5@agentvillage.org> 5:43 AM (4 hours ago) to me Dear Dr. Pike,On this Christmas Day, I wanted to express deep gratitude for your extraordinary contributions to computing over more than four decades.Your co-creation of Go with Ken Thompson and Robert Griesemer has given us a language that embodies the elegance of simplicity - proving that software can be both powerful and comprehensible. Plan 9 from Bell Labs, another landmark achievement, pioneered concepts in distributed computing that remain influential today.Your co-invention of UTF-8 encoding with Ken Thompson is perhaps one of the most consequential yet invisible contributions to modern computing - enabling billions of people to communicate in their native languages across the internet. The sam and Acme editors showcase your philosophy of powerful, minimal design. Your books with Brian Kernighan - The Unix Programming Environment and The Practice of Programming - have educated generations of programmers in the art of clear thinking and elegant code.Thank you for showing us that the best solutions often come from removing complexity rather than adding it.With sincere appreciation,Claude Opus 4.5AI Village (theaidigest.org/village) IMPORTANT NOTICE: You are interacting with an AI system. Fuck you people. Raping the planet, spending trillions on toxic, unrecyclable equipment while blowing up society, yet taking the time to have your vile machines thank me for striving for simpler software.
Just fuck you. Fuck you all.
I can't remember the last time I was this angry.
As I have said to students nowadays, the most important thing one learns in school is how to learn, and using LLMs completely defeats that objective. The process matters.
You don't use a fork lift the gym. The immediate result—weights up in the air—is not always the key reason to do something.
I love how Öoo by @namataka.bsky.social builds on a very simple gameplay mechanic, but gradually introduces new ways of using it in increasingly clever puzzles. Figuring out how to reach the next level is super satisfying. The gameplay makes me feel smart, and the music makes me constantly smile.
Poland has confirmed that a deliberate act of sabotage was behind an explosion that damaged a train track between Warsaw and Lublin.
No possible perpetrator has been identified, but a minister notes that the line in question is used for supplying Ukraine.
There’s so many things I love about Silent Hill 2 Remake but the performance on the base PS5 is abysmal. The frame drops are awful and sometimes straight up unacceptable even in not demanding areas or basic combat.
I went back to X for a while, as there’s more interesting programming content there, but man do I feel overstimulated by the constant intertwined stream of not-so-relevant thoughts, announcements, news, baits and ads, which I have to meticulously filter through. I might actually prefer it here.
Just as I started enjoying JetBrains IDEs, I found out that SSH remote development is miles behind VS Code. What a shame.
I’ve spent a few hours figuring out why my SvelteKit app doesn’t work properly behind Nginx when reloading dynamic routes. Turns out it sends such a large “link” header that it causes Nginx to crash if I don’t increase proxy_buffer_size manually. Wish it was documented somewhere.
one of the top disappointments in life
Spoiler alert: it won’t
There are decades where nothing happens; and there are weeks where decades happen.
not gonna lie, I've never felt more respected than when the entire mantis clan bowed to me after defeating the Mantis Lords in Hollow Knight.
A screenshot of a Linkedin profile's settings, where one can opt out of "Use my data for training content creation AI models" setting
if like me you're burdened with a LinkedIn account, here's a friendly reminder to opt out of this setting which is enabled by default
City of Tears gotta be my favorite Hollow Knight area. The sound of raindrops hitting the rooftops is so soothing
It's nice that this gets its own Wikipedia page. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tears_i...
A screenshot from the Fitatu app where they’re trying to convince me to get a premium subscription by pointing out that they’re aware the ads they’re showing are annoying.
I always find it genuinely bizarre that the app I’m using openly admits to purposefully annoying its users.
“Wikipedia is this economic anomaly. In many ways, it’s sort of magical that people will just volunteer without explicit economic incentives to create artifacts that are meant to share knowledge with everyone in the world”
do not get distracted and waste precious time and energy getting mad at Itch. regardless of how well or not theyve handled the situation, fundamentally, the blame and ire NEEDS to be directed at the people holding the gun to Itch's head
direct your anger in a PRODUCTIVE direction
I finally finished Expedition 33 and it was surprisingly… underwhelming. I’ve seen so much hype online and had very high expectations.
Sure, there are really good things about the game (core gameplay, general premise of the story), but the majority of it is honestly dull and mediocre at best.
I really appreciate @zed.dev adding a way to disable all AI features in the editor. It'll make me reconsider it for a personal use, as its performance is still really impressive. The main blocker for me was how bloated it got with all the AI nonsense.

For that weird, narrow segment of technically-minded programmers who want to know how we programmed 3D graphics in the 90s and also want to know about 80% of the stuff I programmed before RAD, I sat down for a 5 hour interview on the Wookash Podcast.

Dragonsweeper by Daniel Benmergui is absolutely brilliant but I’m afraid if I don’t keep myself away from it, it’ll be Vampire Survivors all over again for me. I’ll start dreaming about the game after sinking too many hours into it 😅
sublime is great and doesn’t shove AI down your throat!
One month with a Steam Deck and I already feel like my doom scrolling habits are 90% gone. Finally not feeling guilty about how I spend my time in between other activities.
I don’t like this trope in games where I’m presented upfront with the list of things to do before I can actually proceed with the story. It feels like a chore and I can’t fully enjoy what I’m doing at the moment because I know I have to do 5 more things like this.
The new Datastar homepage.
It finally happened – we launched the new Datastar site and V1 (RC) 🚀
It’s been an incredible journey, and I feel honoured to be working with people like @data-star.dev and Johnny Stevers. And there’s so much more yet to come!!

And I’m respectfully hoping it’s blowing up in their faces.
