Thank you for this. I haven't seen the film. I'll definitely look into this one, your comment has intrigued me!

I got to half-way, when I think she moves out, and I thought that was a lovely little story I don't need to read the rest.
Thanks! Yes. I think I'll be reading these shortest to longest. I've been reading a lot of books that I already know the story of because I've seen the movie and it can be a bit demotivating to finish when I already know what happens. So I'm a little worried about that for IT given how long it is.
This is true
A stack of eight thrifted paperback and hardcover books piled vertically on a dark wooden surface against a dark background. From top to bottom, the titles are: The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon by Stephen King (green spine) IT by Stephen King (thick spine with a green and white design) Different Seasons by Stephen King (orange and yellow spine) Prey by Michael Crichton (white spine with red and black text) Death Wish by Brian Garfield (slim white spine) Under the Banner of Heaven by Jon Krakauer (white spine) The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat by Oliver Sacks (white spine with black accents) Disclosure by Michael Crichton (a thick red hardcover at the base of the stack)
My February thrift book haul
$9 for 8 books!
Since discovering the thrift bookstore near me I've been buying books faster than I can read them. I might have a problem...

Great recs thanks! Already read and loved The Martian so I'll add the other books you've recommended to my list! Lotr I've been meaning to do for years. In a recent trip to the thrift store I found Prey and Disclosure by Crichton. Never heard of these ones but for $1 I couldn't leave them.
Quality over quantity. The one near me seems to be the opposite...
I need this book!
Definitely! I want to give Sphere a go. I feel like I've seen the movie but it was so long ago I don't remember anything about it.
Ooooh thank you! That's definitely my sort of thing!
I will check it out. Thanks for the recommendation!
Oh wow, just had a look, I didn't even know that was originally a novel. I'll definitely check it out thanks!
A first-person perspective of a hand holding a paperback copy of Michael Crichtonβs 'Jurassic Park'. The background is a lush, green littoral rainforest in Murramarang National Park, slightly out of focus, with dense ferns and tall trees.
I read Jurassic Park last week
As a lifelong fan of the movie, I'm a little ashamed it's taken me until now to read the book
Happy to say that Dr Ian Malcolm is still my favorite character (even more so now)
I'm now looking for more recs of books that became classic films

Hmm interesting.. my feed is filled with books and video games and movies... I wonder why your feed shows you that
Collage of 4 images. Top left: book spine with name Hammond printed on it. Top right: Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton book being held at a campsite in a rainforest. Bottom left: 3 toed footprints in sand. Bottom right: screenshot of notification on phone with text "Australia's oldest dinosaur fossil"
When you're in the middle of a book and the universe won't let you think about anything else.

Love the book math to get yourself a new kindle. I wish my mum wanted a kindle...
This one has been on my tbr for a while. I might need to bump it up!
Yes I agree, I'll probably have a gap between Jurassic Park and The Lost World.
I was at the thrift store today and they had just been given a box of King books, so there will be more in my Feb haul.
I've heard that from so many. Just started It today only 50 pages in. I'll be camping in a rainforest for a few days from tomorrow so it should be a good immersive read!
A vertical stack of five books resting on a wooden surface. From bottom to top: a hardcover edition of 'The Lost World' by Michael Crichton, followed by four paperbacks: 'The Tattooist of Auschwitz' by Heather Morris 'I'll Be Gone in the Dark' by Michelle McNamara, 'Jurassic Park' by Michael Crichton, and 'The Shining' by Stephen King.
My January thrift book haul
$7 for the 5 books!
Which one should I move to the top of the pile?
The Shining - I needed the physical copy.
Jurassic Park - It's finally off my TBR.
Iβll Be Gone in the Dark
Tattooist of Auschwitz
The Lost World - I couldn't leave the hardcover!

Scary I could repost this as mine... Minus the nail polish π The kindle one though I struggle with because I don't want to be that guy but the convenience, the font customization, and once you get a page turner remote it's game over for physical books.
"emotional chokehold" perfectly describes reading this book. All of PRK's books hit, I'm looking forward to his new one coming out in April, already pre-ordered it! Looking forward to seeing your review on this on!
Happy Birthday!
I found this book at a thrift store yesterday. It's been on my TBR for too long.
I thought this was going to be easy, but there were Spain Spanish publications and Latin American Spanish publications. i made a list of the Latin American Spanish ones here: search.worldcat.org/lists/1f8f0e...
Just read this one myself. It was enjoyable and I needed some short ones to make my numbers better. I'm nowhere near your 90 though that's impressive
Aussie here. Forget cornflakes, look into chocolate crackles, our elevated rice crispy treat.
Great review. The eeriness of it reminds me of the quote "If you're not paying for the product, you are the product." Scary to think your personal information is either being weaponized or monetized.
I think you've done enough.
I'm even more intrigued now. Looking forward to the first post.
