It's International Women’s Day! To honour the day, we want to take a moment to recognize and celebrate the incredible women who have helped shape Mod Hob Cooperative. Maryam Shoja , Co-founder of Mod Hob and Co-designer of PlotWeaver: Cards of Creation. Nearly a decade ago, she first imagined the concept behind PlotWeaver, planting the seed for what has grown into so much more. She has also carried an enormous amount of the foundational work, helping us get registered, establishing our initial SOPs, and ensuring the cooperative had the structure it needed to grow. Emily McKee Morioka, our Co-chair and Community Lead, who is truly the soul of Mod Hob. She has helped us articulate who we are and what we stand for, both internally and to the world, including our work with the CDRQ. Her care, clarity, and values have helped anchor our identity as a cooperative. Savpreet Kaur the Secretary of the Board, Pod Steward (Scrum master) for PlotWeaver and our QA lead. Her thoughtful guidance has helped our development work mature, bringing structure and intention to how we build. She has played a huge role in helping us break down ideas into real, achievable work. Ruth Allison Donavon, whose beautiful illustration work on the back of our cards added warmth, artistry, and character to something we care deeply about. Jennie Sutherland, who has helped us sharpen our marketing thinking and segmentation, has helped us better understand how to reach the people who can benefit most from what we’re building. Mod Hob exists because people bring their talents, care, and belief into a shared vision. The creativity, leadership, and dedication of these women are woven deeply into the foundation of our cooperative. On this International Women’s Day, we want to say thank you for your effort, your creativity, your leadership, and for helping build something better together.
