I spent the last several episodes of AngelBeats saying “I don’t know if that’s sweet, or super fucked up.”

Definitely going to have to circle back to merch offerings. Might drop out of Shopify and go into Fourthwall. I just wish they had the tumbler offerings.

So that’s what it’s like for Twitch to drop off more than 50% y/y and only cover 70% of the mortgage for January, let alone any other expenses? Interesting, Interesting…

I…. Didn’t talk about method of enforcement? My point was my opinion is conceptually speaking that segmentation would be better for society in the long run.

If we've learned anything from the part of our history where we created the extremely powerful, world-changing, uncontrollable new technology of a social internet, it should be that whatever is about to happen with AI will, if nothing else, be extremely dumb.

There’s not real conversation, because bots skew and pervert the interactions people used to have. And there’s not good wages, because technology has eliminated half of the jobs and we are left fighting each other for the scraps.

The American Dream is thoroughly destroyed.

Everything late stage capitalism touches is enshittified. Everything is exploited. There aren’t good deals, just algorithmically timed enticements. There isn’t good value, because that could mean less profit. There’s not real reviews, because marketing realized they can just rate their ow product.

When I asked about a loaner they told me, almost word for word from the last time I had the car in, the exact same “unexpectedly busy” dance of how they could provide.

As meaningless as it is, my final words to the attendant was simply “I miss what Tesla used to be.” Before walking out to my uber.

10.02.2026 21:42 👍 17 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

I asked the check in attendant and it turns out that they use AI to process service requests. The codes the AI picked and quoted were apparently not the actual codes, despite the car having submitted them as well as my including a picture of them. No human looks at the estimate or information.

When I dropped it off today they reviewed the codes, looked confused, then had me wait while they went and talked to their “lead technician”. After ten minutes they returned. $450 diagnostic and Friday the earliest they can look at it…

But the service estimate was $300 same day fix… soooo what?

When you need an appt with Tesla service you go through their app. The car sends its error codes, you submit pictures, and then they come back with an estimate. I was pleasantly surprised that after submitting the service request, an hour later they estimated $300 and same day fix for my car.

So many years and so much technology. Now, heading home from dropping off my broken Tesla they’re charging $450 to just diagnose, in an Uber I’m paying for because they couldn’t provide a loaner or Uber vouchers, it’s crazy to think back on all these things and see just how warped they are now.

When SpaceX tested their grasshopper, it pulled my attention to their rockets. For awhile I watched every launch, saw every failed landing. Saw their first successful ones. I showed my dad what we can do now. I was awed at the falcon heavy. I still watch Starship tests.

I love that car. The instant I drove it every non-EV car immediately felt like I was driving a dinosaur that ran on dinosaur juice. The other thing that sold me on it was Musk talking about how ridiculous it was that dealer car service was a profit center. I agreed wholeheartedly.

For the majority of my life I leased my vehicle. I got more car for the monthly price, and I never had to worry about aging car problems. I did that for years, until in 2012 when I first saw the Model S. I told myself if I ever was going to buy a car, it was going to be that one. In 2018, I did.

I wasn’t early enough to make a lot, but I remember the smaller days of bitcoin. The idea that I could, and did, convert computer cycles into money was pretty neat. For a short time I even had a dedicated miner unit on my desk at work (lol). Dont worry, I got my boss in on it too.

I remember buying books from Amazon because books was what it sold. How many people remember that Amazon was a bookstore? I bought from Amazon because I believed online commerce was worth pursuing. Even though it lost money hand over fist, I wanted to support the upstart company’s goal.

I’ve lived through one hell of a technological arc. I’ve advocated for technology, embraced it, invested in it, and built a 15 year career within it.

And like all old people, in many ways… I’ve come to hate it.

With no intention to advocate for discord specifically in any way, be careful of the cyclical logic of being against regulation because it might drive people to unregulated spaces. That simplistic idea has done a lot of harm in a lot of areas.

How was it? I love margs but hadn’t ever found any decent premix version.

There’s a lot of information being researched that seems to be showing social media is pretty terrible for kids but I haven’t followed it enough to know if it’s conclusive. But I’m not saying they don’t get access to anything, just that a clear delineation between adult and minor spaces would help.

The Discord thing is a little interesting, because while I don’t trust them at all to have that level of PII from a privacy and data security standpoint, and it would be devastating for my career, I actually believe that societally speaking separating minors from the general internet would be good.

Is it rude to refer to the friendlies who you end up in lobbies with and enjoy but don’t have any active intrapersonal interaction with, side bitches?

Shout out to all my side bitches, love you guys. I would DM but I’m shy.

Accidentally brushed up against the conservative bot horde on Twitter and I want to shower with bleach.

Even if only 1 out 10 are real, yeaghhh *shudder*

Is it correlation or causation with people who blame everyone else for their problems being so amazingly miserable?

The thing about RFK jr. being a terrible head of health and human services is like…yeah. Yeah, he is literally the worst possible person for the job.

It has exited the Circle of Influence and exists solely in the Circle of Concern. Energy put worrying and stressing over things we can’t affect is simply lost energy and added stress. So… I hate it… but I don’t know that I have it in me to spend time trying to stop the ocean tide.
