As my friend put it, "security via printf"
As my friend put it, "security via printf"
I unpacked/edited a string/repacked the abl, flashed it and sure enough it didn't brick...
So in the end a friend helped me to patch the abl to skip the unlocking prompt (and the "bootloader is unlocked" nag at boot since we were at it) and it's unlocked and rooted without issues with Magisk now 4/
Didn't know much about Qualcomm stuff tbh, so I looked it up and turns out that disables the whole boot security (I was told it's normally only off on dev boards and the like). I wondered if the FP4 abl was misreporting it (due to different hw or something) or boox was lying on their menu... 3/
Sadly on this one the FP4 abl got stuck at the "do you want to unlock?" prompt after "fastboot bootloader unlock" because (I guess) the volume buttons didn't match the Fairphone. And then I noticed something on the bootloader screen about secure boot which didn't match the official bootloader 2/
Got a boox eink tablet (Note Air 5C), saw it wasn't rooted yet but the phone equivalent released at the same time with the same hw had just been rooted by flashing the Fairphone 4 abl/bootloader (same SoC) through edl and then normally unlocking the bootloader. 1/
(Have worked on the Wayland screen capture/clipboard stuff recently, was kind of a pain but itβs nice to have feature parity on all major setups now)
Can act both as a simple image scanner (from clipboard/sockets) and as a screen-capture based text extractor (allowing to select windows, subregions etc), has native implementations for all input/outputs on macOS/Windows/Wayland and OS-specific OCR engines like Apple Live Text
Probably mentioned it before at some point but iβve worked on a FOSS cli ocr βdaemonβ of sorts for years now mostly used by Japanese learners

I finished it a few weeks ago and iβm honestly missing it
Done! Took 5 months in the end. What a trip, really liked ep 7 and 8
Done with 7, the end is in sight
Wild that I figured it out after that thanks to a very non-big-brained trigger and initially dismissed it but on second thought it made a lot of sense
Just cleared episode 6, was told i should have all the elements to figure it out in general so i feel kinda stupid hah
Got to 9k words studied yesterday

I think itβs probably better to do it since it makes leaving easier if anything

Pro tip: all major social media companies do this. Twitter, ironically, was one of the only companies that ever pushed back against law enforcement demands for data/unmasking/etc.
Now, well. Here we are.
Yesterday i beat the final boss on my original cart of Diddy Kong Racing after so many years, I just didnβt remember he was Elon Musk (for reference, this space pig who goes around capturing places and pissing people off)
