Right, or well, make it a combo hotline with specially trained people for both cases. Then have some sort of safe harbor law for getting a psych eval and potentially treatment at a nearby hospital under supervision of police and care of professionals.
The same might have been asked of the suicide prevention hotline ages ago, right? Does the intended victim make that much of a difference?
I mean like if an individual feels like homiciding someone, they can call the number themselves and request someone talk them out of it. I suppose that could be 911, but I don't think it quite fits.
