The CSA would have been vastly outnumbered by any contemporary western european great powers army. And these powers had much, much better infrastructure, from transport to heavy industry to just food production and pretty much everything else, to support their armies.
The CSA had a total of about a million troops over the course of a war, with a highpoint of about 400k soldiers at one point. During the Franco-Prussian War about 5 years later, France deployed a total of 2 million with a peak field army strenght of 700k. Prussia 1.5m and 950k.
